Mission Level: 135
Yamata-no-Orochi is the last story boss in Nioh. There are still bosses after this but beating him results in the ending cutscene.
He is a huge hydra. Each head has a different elemental effect but they all do the same moves. The fight takes place on a rooftop and all around the roof are hydra heads. You must destroy each head. Find the sweet spot where the hydra head can't hit you but is still trying to attack. Roughly 15-20 meters/yards is a good distance. When the head moves it's about to attack so run away. When the attack fails (and ONLY then) you can attack the head. Run to it as fast as possible and attack in high stance for maximum damage. A lot of the attacks cannot be blocked so focus on running and dodging.
Go clockwise, killing one hydra head after the other (order: wind, water, lightning, fire, earth). This way you never get trapped between two heads. To your left will always be an open spot.
After the fight you also find your first divine items! This is extremely powerful endgame gear and unlocks the silver trophy "Divine Obtainer".

FINALLY, i finished this game it was so perfect to me with samurai skills and fights. I was pissed off from several bosses like bat woman and ice woman and and the giant toad :( but all in all I impressed and enjoyed the nioh game

I don’t exactly how I dit it but got him first try. I wasn’t even moving constantly like some say you should. After 6 heads appeared I was focusing on 2 at once. The others I didn’t even had to pay attention. Their attacks were really slow and the Amrita stones gave enough cover. Just once I had low health, like a third. When the head is tilting it’s about to swing with it just like the last head. And you should look out for the electric attack, like the boss Nue does. Other than that it was easy. Just luck I guess

Hanzo lied about William being dead cuz William doesn't want to involve with their affairs anymore but Ieyasu knew Hanzo was lying all along same goes with the talking cat faking his death. In the epilogue (yes, there's a post-game story), after William settled things in England, he saw visions of war back in Japan via magic crystal and decided to journey back.

I have a question. After killing the 6 headed boss the game goes on. But I feel like every mission after that, sub and main, is too hard for me to tackle. Do I do something wrong or is it supposed to increase in difficulty? Even the green weapons don’t do the trick. I feel like I got through the game with the wrong play style and now it pays it dues if you know what I mean. Or am I supposed to use the blacksmith more? I didn’t forge a single weapon so far cause the drops been good enough. And I didn’t loose skills all of a sudden. What am I missing?

Japan's ancient name is YamaTO 大和　YamaTA in Yamata no Orochi is 八岐. They're not even close. Also I know this is nitpicking but Orochi 大蛇 isn't just "snake", it's "great snake". It's like the different between cat and tiger.

Do you even know another form of 八岐 is 八俣 written in the oldest history book in japan 古事记. 八岐 means eight branches of a mountain range while 八俣 means eight branches of Wu people(from Southern China during the warring states)or Wa the Japanese people..both terms coincides with the more obvious terms for Japan like 大八洲 eight big lands, 八島 eight islands in later literature. As for the origin of the snake, it was probably once a symbol of the ancestral penis just like in many other cultures. even the game producer here put the thing in the final boss fight to symbolize the pacification of all Japan. so the term just means Japan in general.

Uhhh, what? I thought there would be multiple phases but it's just the one and the boss has a bunch of generic ranged attacks and easily dodge-able slam attacks. Is this really the final boss? I mean, i was expecting it to last like 10 minutes maybe more but a 6 minute boss fight with no phase switching is pathetic. Im sorry but my interest in this game has dropped to minimal levels after seeing the bosses this game offers. Thanks for making these videos pyx, you directly influenced my decision EDIT: Don't think i'm being whiny because i didn't get what i want, i just think the bosses are shallow personally, but the gameplay is very very good. The stance aspect is a genius idea and i support that fully but the bosses are a let down.

A: this game isn't meant to be fair xD B: Look at dark souls, especially the Ashes of Ariandel DLC C: Your meant to die, it's built into the game design it's a process of learning mechanics, and it make it feel more rewarding and like your making progress even though statistically you aren't because you haven't beat the boss. In NIOH it's a couple moves that they do over and over and the idea is to master dodging them which becomes repetitive and annoying.
