I'm from the u.s and I have continuous heating, it can be adjusted to lower setting when I'm not home. Maybe you should set the timer for your heating so that when it comes on, it's at a low setting, just to kill the chill in the air.

Yes, and twice a day (morning and night), turn it off for 10 minutes and open up all windows for some fresh air!! With all the heating, lots of fluffy fabric, and potentially candles indoor air can be more polluted than city air.

I am in Canada when we go away we turn our heat down to 16. we keep our heat at 19/20 when we are home so the heat will come on and off to keep the house at 16.
