Especially when considering Japanese kokugaku, as primary sources are egregious to niche in western society. Games are capable of providing an assumed first perspective for a viewer, although information tends to be basic. I do like videogames and history, but the problem with videogames is that just like anything meant to the masses, is that it is meant to be consumed by everyone, so it needs to be simplified to the point where even a 60 IQ person is able to enjoy it.
