Nipsey Hussle much more wiser than 2pac, Nipsey Hussle is very humble business man as well as rapper. He has his own record label, he song writer and producer. He also invested in his community, The Marathon clothing shops on the way creating jobs for the local population, as result he is loved by his community.

Two countries lost a legend, a role model to the youth. USA and his country, Eritrea which adore and love him too much. Every time he goes back to Eritrea (Red Sea state) in east Africa, the young follow him like a prophet and they listen to his advice that they can be and do what their mind set up to do in a positive way. By the way his real name is Ermias (Jeremiah) and his trade mark name Nipsey is an Eritrean word NEBSEY which means my life or my soul. When the Eritreans greet each other like the Americans say 'BRO' they say 'NEBSEY'. And ironically a nut case took his LIFE aka NEBSI. NEBSI a noun which means life or soul and NEBSEY is an adjective meaning respecting life. R.I.P brother.

Smart businessman I'm glad he reinvested into the community and he's aware of the fact that they're about to gentrify that whole Crenshaw area and he's going to capitalize on the benefits from the gentrification and reinvest back into the community

K Will I know, I grew up not to far from there, and worked in that community for like 10 years. My Grandma moved there in 1960, and my Uncle used to own the duplexes that she lived in, but a lot of the homes that are occupied by blacks are rented, not all of them, but quite a bit , especially a lot of the apartments in Leimert Park are owned by a lot of Chinese, and Koreans, even the Well known "Liquor Bank" , store where they filmed the movie "Baby Boy", it was a goldmine for the owners in the 60's, 70's and the 80's, they had a deli inside that served fresh sandwiches, and they used to deliver Large Liquor orders to the Celebrities that lived in the Community not too far away, like Baldwin Hillls, I remember as a kid, my father driving us through Baldwin hills showing us Ray Charles Home, and other Celebs, but after the 70's quite a few of them moved away.

K Will The genrification part I'm referring to is the properties that a lot of blacks used to own, but no longer have ownership, especially the commercial property, and also the businesses, you can own the businesses, but the Landlords are the real ones that make the money, they sit back and rather the business make money or not, they collect their rent every month. Look at the liquor stores in the area, majority of the licenses are owned by the Koreans, and the land is owned by Jews, not all of it, but a nice amount of it, I think Slauson Liquor is owned by Koreans, they seen the weakness in the Black community in the 80's from the drugs and gang violence, and creeped in and bought all the liquor licenses and businesses from the blacks that had ownership in the 60s, and 70s, after the Jews migrated further West.

K Will So I'm Proud to see Nipsey do what the Blacks have been doing, back in the 60s, and 70s , he's just being a real businessman, which is a good example for the community to follow, if a lot more people start to follow his trend, then the community will grow and repair itself over time.
@MrDmacc1

K Will I'm with you on that, I remember the real L.A. like you, went to 52nd st, went to John Muir, but when my Grandmother lived there it was a totally different world from the one Nipsey talking about, Positive blacks weren't about the gangs, and the drugs, but about the empowerment of the people, the unity. Of course KJLH is not going to support that negativity, I grew up with some of Roland Bynum (KJLH -DJ) kids, He was well known in the 70s in radio on KGFJ, his uncle is Smokey Robinson, they're all from Detroit, when they came to LA, it was a different LA, when a lot of Powerful Blacks, And celebs lived, Mavericks Flat, the Original . A lot has changed in this community, since the Crack Epidemic , but these youngsters today, have no education, and no ideas on th history of the area that they're living in, Take away the drugs, gangbanging, and influence positive movement, add businesses, more schools, that's where the problem is.

I love the healthy food concept. Food 4 Less down the st. has almost no antibiotic, low sugar, organic options. You have to work harder to make healthy choices. Seems like a set up. The smart store concept is super ahead of the rest!! I live on Hyde Park, latina mom raised in the 90's hip hop, and I respect when our community is put on the map. Please keep up the positive work! We are in this earth for a reason.
