Niro Roof Rack. $158. quick look

Thanks for the rack review, looks like a good product and something I'll eventually install for carrying my kayak. On my van I added a third cross bar that rested on the roof. It extended rearward so I could handle a longer load (long canoe) and also gave a bit of support for heavier roof loads. I moved the OEM crossbars closer together towards the front of the van. Good luck with your roof loads, tie 'em tight!

I have very similar racks on my 2023 Niro PHEV. Ebay specials. They were on for about 2 months. No issues and they do work for carrying some lumber back home. I did just recently removed them for the winter. No other reason than I don't plan to carry anything until Spring and it made cleaning the roof easier.

Your videos are great! Any updates on the results such as wind noise or overall fuel economy issues?

Thanks. Surprisingly, I have not noticed any new wind noise coming from the rack at all. I haven't noticed any loss in MPG either. I have hakkapeliitta 9 tires (at 33psi) on for the winter that are much heavier then the stock (low G, low rolling friction tires) that come on the Niro, and I am getting 44-50mpg here in Vermont.

Interesting, bought the same one and I like it, looks good. Locking mechanism does not provide much of confidence I believe it could be easily bypassed with some damage.

That's SUBSTANTIALLY cheaper than others, i.e. Yakima.

No difference in anything (though it must add some drag). I don't notice any sound or MPG difference... I also haven't even used the darn things yet...suppose I just like them as part of the car and want to be prepared. I believe the max load for this set up with the 'flush mount' KIA rails is 230lbs max for the Niro.
