Other than The Who, Nirvana is the only band to ever do this convincingly as a matter of routine. It's just where both bands ended up at the end of a gig. All others who attempt this seem contrived or angry. Posturing. The Who and Nirvana made it seem matter of fact. Just the noise, the aggression, the essence of the moment. It becomes physical. They begin breaking their gear, destroying the stage and we just think "Well obviously THAT was going to happen. How could it not?" Brilliant performance art few can pull off.
