Kurt once said he couldn’t understand why smells like teen spirit got more success than this song as he felt it was one of his best efforts. I only wish he can see from above that people still listening, playing and love his great song in 2019 *EDIT* - 2023 and FOREVER!

It is really hard to understand why a song sticks to your head. Many songs doesn't even have lyrics but they turn to a hit. If I had to make a guess, I would say that teen spirit is soft/loud in a perfect balance. Also, "drain you" and "sappy" are very similar, teen spirit is kinda unique piece. Plus, the video matched up pretty well with the song, it's like a picture of a role generation. He got the feeling of many, so fame was inevitable.

@@toad8840 now you've talked properly. I do think it could've been better, but if you think about it, In Bloom's original video was way more "home made" and boring, and until teen spirit, they didn't make to much effort to videos. I mean, they never did. I do prefer come as you are over all I can remember right now

A song being immortalized by a society doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best song, it just fits the collectives needs, wants, emotions, ideas etc the best.

Absolutely....I look at the French show where they all wore white dress shirts and thin ties...it was a little before this show but was same time frame ......Amazing. They took a lot of the world by storm when Nevermind was released. For me, and I'm sure many others this was the bridge from hair metal to Modern rock. I still love ALL metal but Grunge happened at a time in my life that I was just becoming an adult and it speaks to me still today. Many of my heroes from the genre left us far too early. Kurt, Layne, Chris, many others.....damn. I swear though, in the mid 2010s grunge, especially Nirvana and AIC Unplugged got me through a divorce. The music is still heavily on my playlist.....✌️🤘💪♥️

No one will ever convince me Kurt wasn't clean here. Look at shows just before and just after. He's a mess and doesn't want to be there. Here his energy level is through the roof and his playing is on point. This is 1990 Kurt again.

Wondering what it means ? The tube in. Drain you. By Nirvana. Just what tube ? And something about infection ? I was trying to sing this song for ages. I am poor. So it's lucky I am not a perfectionist. As, I had to wait to find out the lyrics. I don't think they're even printed on The CD which I bought unfortunately a little late to cheer . @@SquatBenDeadlift what’s even sadder is that a person’s opinion of themselves will almost always be the strongest. Everyone around Kurt may have thought he was handsome and good-looking (basically everyone today seems to agree that he was very handsome too), but he never thought that of himself. He thought he was ugly, and that was the only opinion that truly mattered to him.

@@dedmeem3383 I doubt very highly he thought that. If he was really that self conscious he wouldn't of had tens of thousands of pictures taken of him or did the amount of interviews and act the way he did whenever there was a camera around. Hes my favorite musician of all time but I don't believe for a second that he thought he was bad looking or hated being famous. He seemed pretty dam comfortable in front of a camera or doing an interview and people that have low opinions of themselves don't act the way he did. It was pretty obvious he loved being a famous Rockstar and knew he had movie star good looks.

@@jeffreyval9665 you can’t say that because you weren’t Kurt Cobain, nor did you ever know him. And of course he was gonna have hundreds of pictures and videos taken of him; he was famous! I think this is the baddest ass Nirvana song ever, best version everything… the set, the lighting, the performance, the camera shots, the sound - i think this is about as close to perfection, to true musical Nirvana, as it can possibly get. This is fucking beautiful 😋 So glad i found this, I’ve been pretty depressed lately

One baby to another says, "I'm lucky to have met you" I don't care what you think unless it is about me It is now my duty to completely drain you I travel through a tube and end up in your infection Chew your meat for you
Pass it back and forth
In a passionate kiss
From my mouth to yours
I like you With eyes so dilated, I've become your pupil
You taught me everything without a poison apple The water is so yellow, I'm a healthy student Indebted and so grateful, vacuum out the fluids Chew your meat for you
Pass it back and forth
In a passionate kiss
From my mouth to yours
I like you You, you, you You, you, you One baby to another says, "I'm lucky to have met you" I don't care what you think unless it is about me It is now my duty to completely drain you I travel through a tube and end up in your infection Chew your meat for you Pass it back and forth In a passionate kiss From my mouth to yours Sloppy lips to lips You're my vitamins I like you

I had a ticket to a Nirvana show when I was 13. It would have been my second ever concert I think. I was obsessed with Nirvana. They were my first favorite band. The day of the show, I was sick as a dog with the flu. I tried to rally but I had a high fever and it just wasn’t happening. I gave my ticket to one of my brother’s friends. I was pretty bummed out about missing the show but I figured I’d get another chance to see them later on. A few months later, I found out there would be no other chance. There was only one chance and I missed it. Now here it is 30 years later and I’m 43 years old and it still stings a little when I think about it.
