Kurt once said he couldn’t understand why smells like teen spirit got more success than this song as he felt it was one of his best efforts. I only wish he can see from above that people still listening, playing and love his great song in 2019 *EDIT* - 2023 and FOREVER!

It is really hard to understand why a song sticks to your head. Many songs doesn't even have lyrics but they turn to a hit. If I had to make a guess, I would say that teen spirit is soft/loud in a perfect balance. Also, "drain you" and "sappy" are very similar, teen spirit is kinda unique piece. Plus, the video matched up pretty well with the song, it's like a picture of a role generation. He got the feeling of many, so fame was inevitable.

Absolutely....I look at the French show where they all wore white dress shirts and thin ties...it was a little before this show but was same time frame ......Amazing. They took a lot of the world by storm when Nevermind was released. For me, and I'm sure many others this was the bridge from hair metal to Modern rock. I still love ALL metal but Grunge happened at a time in my life that I was just becoming an adult and it speaks to me still today. Many of my heroes from the genre left us far too early. Kurt, Layne, Chris, many others.....damn. I swear though, in the mid 2010s grunge, especially Nirvana and AIC Unplugged got me through a divorce. The music is still heavily on my playlist.....✌️🤘💪♥️

Arguably one of the best songs they ever released. I've been trying to find this song forever. I remember listening to it when I was like 6 after coming home from playing with friends and its always stuck with me. Thank you Kurt for making my life and so many others more enjoyable ❤ god knows we all wish you were still here

With this trend of awesome rock biopics (Bohemian rhapsody, Rocketman, the dirt). Nirvana needs their biopic
@jasonwalsh82814 жыл бұрын
Potentially the saddest and most disturbing biopic ever.

Really depends how they do it. Like do they do it from the start to the end or just from popularity to death. And like how gritty and stuff. Casting would be super hard

I saw Nirvana at The Omni in Atlanta, Ga around this time. The Breeders opened for them. Great show from both bands, but Nirvana had so much energy that you could literally feel it!

I got into nirvana when I was 16 right before KZbin launched. Seeing the comments on nirvana videos of the next generations getting into is a beautiful thing to see.

The most important band in the last 30 years. They created an era, and perfected their craft in only a few years. Cobain was a genius.

When the scream is unleashed at 2:29 and they pan to the crowd they’re just standing and staring…wow At that moment, no matter how far back you are, how are you not losing your mind and launching yourself into the air against the people close to you?
