I think people always get caught up in Kurt's mystique, personality and voice while missing out on what a brilliantly inventive guitar player he was. Screaming and shredding at the same time, genius. Great playing nomaSkills!
@bobthebuilder75449 жыл бұрын
It's not exatcly shredding I personley put his guitar style along with syd Barrett john Lennon and Neil young not tencical but the way the fuck around with it was awsome
@AtacamaHumanoid6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he didn't know much about guitar or have a lot of skill, actually, but it's not all that easy to sing and play at the same time and he could do that really well. None of the tricky stuff is on this album, though. Bleach and Nevermind have some real mindfucking riffs to try to play while singing at the same time.
@SonikJesus6 жыл бұрын
He also was great at making textures. Most people don't realize but underneath his distortion are little sounds and hidden details that most people never pay attention to. he was like a painter with his guitar

I think it is amazing how Kurt managed to play his guitar parts and sing that well at the same time (which can be quite hard in a lot of songs). People always say "Nirvana songs are not hard to play", well he might not have used the craziest guitar techniques, but try singing, playing, sounding good, doing a great show, and keeping the rhythm at the same time. Anybody can sit in his bedroom and play some riffs.

What I really loved about this is that even though Kurt's guitar parts can be simple at times, possibly even easy to play for technically advanced players, a large percentage of it is phrasing and energy and you really nailed it.

remember when I was 20 - 21 years old, watching this video and playing along and learning the chords of the songs. Kurt is such an inspiring guitarist. His playing is like an explosion. Even he didn't knew what the fuck he was playing in terms of notes and all this technical stuff, he achieved more with his playing style, then all this highly skilled guitar player, that consider them self as "pro" players. As a musician now myself (turned 26), I recognize how deep kurt influenced me in terms of guitar playing and Melodie. Thanks sir for this nice songs compilation!

One of the few guys on KZbin that plays this album as close to perfect as possible. You must have the tablature book. For Serve the Servants, I noticed you do the slide from F# to G which most covers fail to do. Oops, I spoke too soon. You need to bar the entire 4th fret for C# during the chorus, adding that G# note on the low E to the C# chord.
