If you ever play a Nirvana song, please do it with passion. That's what Kurt would have wanted you to do and that’s the right way to play his songs. It doesn’t matter if you don’t hit every chord or every note correct as long as you just put some soul and passion into it.

Kurt Cobain claimed that Heart Shaped Box was inspired by a television report of children suffering from cancer. However, many believe it was really written about his shaky but passionate relationship with his wife, Courtney Love. The lyrics do tend towards this latter interpretation, since they seem to concern themselves with an unstable romance between two individuals. It's worth noting that the lyrics mention Pisces and Cancer, Cobain's and Love's respective astrological signs. Love, after their second meeting sent a small heart-shaped box, containing, among other things, a doll's head, to his hotel room. This is believed to have inspired the song's title. Cobain and Love both shared a love and fascination of dolls. Tuning: Drop C#. Equipment used: Fender Kurt Cobain Jaguar, Tech 21 SansAmp Classic, Electro Harmonix Polychorus(solo) and Fender Mustang IV amp. Lyrics: She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak I've been locked inside your heart-shaped box for weeks I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn back Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Your advice Meat-eating orchids forgive no one just yet Cut myself on angel hair and baby's breath Broken hymen of 'Your Highness', I'm left black Throw down your umbilical noose so I can climb right back Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Hey! Wait! I got a new complaint Forever in debt to your priceless advice Your advice She eyes me like a Pisces when I am weak I've been locked inside your heart-shaped box for weeks I've been drawn into your magnet tar pit trap I wish I could eat your cancer when you turn black Hey! I've waited for this, my all time favorite song of Nirvana. All these melancholic and emotional thoughts and deeds put into a song, it says a lot about Kurt and his deep feelings he had. The sad little sensitive, unappreciative, Pisces. The relationship had a major impact on him and unfortunately it came to a severe ending. Kurt's humble and passionate personality has influenced us all in many different ways. What a journey it has been, and now we're here to honor Kurt and Nirvana.

I enjoy these guitar covers for a couple reasons. For one it's Nirvana who inspired me to actually pick up a guitar in the first place, and secondly you are playing all these songs with the same feeling and passion Kurt put behind it. Plus it doesn't hurt that unlike some people you are actually playing all of these songs correctly and pretty much like Kurt did. If you were like me growing up I studied all the movements, the little "tics" Kurt would do. Gone too soon and still missed terribly :(

I've been following your stuff for a long long time and I just realized how much indentified I feel with what you do. You love Nirvana so much that you never get tired of playing their songs, even though they have a relatively small discography and the songs are sort of repetitive. You play them over and over and always seem to be having the time of your life, because it's your fav band and it's always gonna be. I wish I could find more people like you and me in real life, who could spend days and days just playing Nirvana songs just to have fun and mess around... But as far as I've seen, people tend to get tired of playing Nirvana too early due to the "overrated" or the "too easy" cliche. Damn there's nothing funnier than losing your shit playing a Nirvana song. Keep it up man!

I actually thought I was one of the only people that enjoy playing Nirvana repetitively. I've been playing guitar for around 4 months and Nirvana is the only thing I've really been listening to and playing. Although I can mess up at times with certain songs cough cough love buzz cough but that's sort of what I enjoy, the scratchy noobie feel of playing a guitar. Makes it sound grunge I guess.

Nirvana was a great group, and it sucks that Kurt died, but life doesnt always go the way we wished it would. I wasnt even alive when he died but hey. Nirvana was certainly the voice of a generation which was basically my dads generation. This song in particular is a favorite the opening riff is just so recognizable. I actually started years ago to attempt to learn the guitar, failed then tried and then i realized im a left handed guitar player. thats all it took.... We need a voice for the new generation a new Nirvana, Or the beatles etc a new group that plays raw real music that connects people together. Because its only gotten worse, I often wonder what Kurt would have said about how things are now. @@feugodelplancher

@@pilsplease7561 i don't know if he would care. all they want ( nirvana ) was to play powerfull music with a lot of energy without being famous this much.
