+Boddah Lennon, i never once believed that courtney killed him. he was already suicidal and i don't blame him. he loved courtney for who she was and who he wasn't. although i don't exactly "like" courtney, i respect her and i never thought it was her. never even being born when it all happened, what else should i write? i don't have a right. i still wish he never did what he did. "peace, love, empathy"

kiefer sutherland Oh please don't mention the heroin level or the autopsy. People will come up to you and write comments that are longer than this page even telling you about who injected him either before or after he (usually a he) shot him after pretending to be his friend, all to take his money or suck up to Courtney and then take her money eeet cetera. Remove your comment while you still can! Run! Hide!

We should start a revolution by destroying all smart phones. Keep home phones only and home pcs. That would basically bring back the creativity and social bonding that's been lost and replaced by fake thing's like f book. Just a hopeful thought.

To me - this is the most "open", sincere, and most "real" interviews of Kurt Cobain. You can see real Kurt in this one ... its like the soul of his are talking .... I think, he was trying to "come back". He was really trying. You can feel the true man speaking not some "pop rock band" leader. This is the Kurt I always image. Rest in peace brother.

He seems like such a nice person. I remember I was in my bedroom listening to mtv when they announced his death, I was totally shocked. I didn't expect that at all, I thought he was so "cool" as a kid because he was an artist, of course kids aren't really a good judge of personality. Now that I am watching his interviews and looking back at his demeanor, he just seems like a generally good person and that makes it even sadder to me. what a waste of life.

I miss him too. I agree, he was one of a kind and had an incredible talent. I think he was also a kind and gentle soul, intelligent and thoughtful, non judgemental, authentic, humble, humorous, and yes unique. He was the kind of person that would stick up for the underdog or those who were oppressed. I've read a lot about his life, and I think he was under tremendous stress and dealing with chronic pain during the time he was famous, and unfortunately increased toward the end of his life. Some people would not be able to handle that kind of pressure at all, so I think he had strength in him that he didn't know he had (I don't think he committed suicide, so I'm not saying that). We lost a great man in April 1994. He will live though his music and in our hearts, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is looking down his fans from heaven and smiling :)

Kurt talks about the future a lot and what he wants to do his words were I want to quit nirvana and play some acoustic music like johny cash or something haha that's awesome man but wow so hard to believe he killed himself really I don't believe it, it's not true after hearing him talk about such ideals of what he would like to do and how he very much was enjoying what he was accomplishing.

He was so sick of the rock star thing. The fan encounters that made him feel objectified and embarrassed...like all his emotion and music was reduced to a cheap party trick or a gimmick. He was also very down to earth and perceptive about the big picture of life and he felt silly being so acclaimed for writing and playing music as if he had cured cancer or something. All of the emotions must have been exhausting...the pressure, the fear of losing the money and the fear of losing people who appreciated his music and at the same time just wanting a normal life. Being depressed as a kid and then suddenly getting everything you ever wanted has to feel shocking and inevitably dissapointing because it will never be what you wanted it to be for your life, it doesnt solve everything and life is complicated. So what else really is there to look forward to? He created all he wanted and probably felt stuck, dissatisfied and burned the fuck out from playing so many shows. I dont know ..just trying to understand what he may have been feeling to want to end everything.

Sonny Torres i dont know if you're on board with the "suicide" narrative, but if you can recognize that kurt was aware of the "big picture" of life, then you should be able to understand the point of view that he was aware enough and smart enough to know that there was a way out of it other than suicide. In his last couple of years he really began to contemplate and form an idea of how to ditch the hard and fast lifestyle he was pushed into persuing and move on to something he could perpetuate in his later years. Its this fact that makes me wonder why some people still can't comprehend why it is very contradicting to some of us that he would've killed himself. But i digress, im just trying to spark a calm debate, im not trying to bait anyone lol
@bodejazz
@bodejazz 7 жыл бұрын
cutyou45 I'm not basing all of my knowledge on this, but I remember watching Soaked in Bleach and it really started to make me think. He had tried suicide attempts before (which was never stated in the documentary) but i dont know. Maybe after years of trying end that lifestyle it just caught up again with everything that was happening, he just thought it'd be easier. And thank you for going for a light debate opposed to most people on the internet screaming how they're right or that persons wrong, I'm just done with it. I'm also wondering if you watched any documentaries about Kurt that seemed to get an idea across well.

Well' to me, I'm 100% he took his own life, I'm a former Herion addict' [clean for 9 years] but I started around 1995 when I was 15/16' the struggle to come off that devil alone made me try to top myself few times, when your a junkie all you want to do is stay home, hide & take your drug, NOT TO GET HIGH! but to feel normal, because thats what happens, (i would always try understand what he was going through) sometimes when I used to try getting off, I would say to myself, now imagine ppl putting pressure on you to tour!! then the pressure off cancelling & what it means, how you one person can affect so many wages!! but you yourself are too sick!!,, sometimes I felt & looked so rough I'd wear long coats & hats to cover my face, & I used to imagine how would have it been for Kurt, [ppl running at you for autographs or interviews when you just want to be left alone] also Kurt hated fame because, he was a massive alternative music fan [hence i hate ppl calling Nirvana a grunge band] they had more in common with 'The Pixies & Sonic youth' he couldn't see he changed everything,, all he saw was he became everything he hated ie Guns & roses main stream stuff' just imagine you set off in a music career today as a serious artist, & when you make it you see yourself like a Justin bieber type figure, thats why it was all demeaning to him. I don't like Courtney Love' but no way do I think she killed him,, she did push him however, making him insecure about other men, (rumours of her & Billy Corgan) hence the OD in Rome, (remember she got him to the hospital on time) when he got back to the US like his bandmate says, "he just wanted to get high & forget everything" & the straw that broke the camels back was that intervention Courtney Love staged at their home, with all their friends family, record execs,, forcing him to go to rehab, (let me tell you an intervention is the worst thing when you are already down on yourself' its everyone in your world telling you that you are a waste of space) Courtney Love to this day admits she never should have done that, when he failed & ran away from rehab' where did he have to go? no where left to run, he had too much stress/depression in every area of his life he just wanted to sleep

Suicides are not really something you plan for weeks or months. A lot of them are instantaneous when someone is having a really shitty day and they just do it.... The second Cobain had that intervention is when he planned it out if you ask me, unless of course he was murdered lol. Who knows.... honestly though anyone using heroin intravenously is not really concerned about dying and in a way could be considered suicidal... probably one of the most dangerous and self destructive things you can do.

bigbowlowrong Wow are you really that stupid? Try reading about it all instead of just believing the bullshit that’s been fed to everyone by the media. There are numerous medical experts that have said something wasn’t right about Kurt’s death, they have also said you’re not meant to rule a death as a homicide or suicide until you have the results from the autopsy and toxicology, the coroner was really close with Courtney, the officer who came out to the media stating Kurt had committed suicide was only a patrol officer and had no right in leaking that information. Also you can read anywhere that Kurt had enough heroin in him to kill 3-5 fully grown men, yet he managed to inject that much tidy everything away, wipe his prints off then pick up the shotgun and shoot himself. Oh and the bottom half of his supposed suicide note the handwriting looks pretty much identical to part of something Courtney had written in one of her dairies. Plus there’s so much more wrong with everything.

People always talk about how Nirvana and Kurt were overrated and maybe technically they are right. I'll be damned, though, if they didn't rock the music world to its core. What a great time. It wasn't depression and angst as much as is was, this world is fucked up so let's get these emotions out. Great, humble and liberal band that rocked the world. RIP Kurt. It's really all about communication. You can communicate and touch people through technically brilliant guitar play. But you can also communicate and reach people through that uninhibited raw-ness that only Kurt could. Diana Moore I think that has some point during Nirvana’s last tour in Europe, Kurt and Courtney had a fight, and Kurt got all upset and reactionary and said he wanted to get a divorced and break up a band, but it most likely was just depression talking, Kurt was in a really bad place, and they reconciled shortly after.

It couldn't have been suicide. Not when in this and so many other of his later interviews he was so much happier than he had been earlier in his career. The last MTV interview for example, in March 1994, was probably the funniest and most upbeat interviews the band ever did. Kurt was talking animatedly about plans for a summer of touring and about the band being much more relaxed and happy. It can't have been suicide. It doesn't make any sense why it could have been.. we miss you, Kurt.

I’m surprise to hear Kurt say he lacked participation in Interactions with the crowd / audience, I totally disagree. I think Kurt has one of the greatest stage Presence of all time!! His style is different from a Jim Morrison & iggy pop but he totally had a connection when performing. All his gigs looked like the crowds was totally connected.

He was all but clean in late 93 by most accounts from those who knew him. And I realize he was back on the shit RIGHT before his death. I know the story about the rehab thing... the whole thing about him and Gibby Haynes laughing about a guy who jumped the wall even though it was a voluntary rehab. Then he did it the next day.

@bogmon Im glad youve used him as an example to not be a heroin addict! The part i will never forget about his music was the energy! The excitement of the memories of where i was when i heard those songs or happen to see them on tv somewhere. . . but anyway im glad that you didnt follow in his path either :) ive also always considered myself alittle smarter then to follow some anti-hero. . But i dont get the point of your response as it had nothing to do with him being murdered.

@bogmon Its weird to see this new generation of nirvana fans, people that werent even born yet in 94' and he still has such and impact!!!!!! Its also weird how everyone one of them are convinced he was murdered.

about Courtney. He wrote songs like Resolve which is obviously about Kurt and shows he at least questions the police's suicide declaration. The Pretender also sounds a lot like Courtney, and he said Let it Die wasn't about Kurt and Courtney (although I think he wrote a few lines about them). His "friend" Dylan is a drug addict and was influenced by Courtney. He had been estranged from his parents and sister for quite a while before he died. He was closest to his grandfather who

He does not want fans .. Kurt is happy with 100 people listening him! Yet, Look what this has become now.. 13 year olds are listening Nirvana just because it is NIRVANA.. the reason -- its all over the world!

I first saw this interview- two nights after his death. I was in Paris on a school tour, and I was 14. I remember the night he died as though it was yesterday- sitting in the hotel room with my friends, trying to talk and understand what the fuck had just happened..At 14, and somebody you look up and idolize like I did Kurt suddenly dies-its fucked up. Your not prepared to understand what must have been going on in his mind to make him do that.

not really.. IF you really read into it, he is looking about his long term career. He even mentions how he wanted to do alot of stuff to be more respected as a song writer(like doing acoustic shows). Im sure Nirvana unplugged was just the beginning.
