One of my favorite shows,and in my country too!.That tone of yours is amazing! its 1:1
Kurt: “Before every song, I’d play the intro to Smells Like Teen Spirit and then stop.” Reality: He did that only twice throughout a 22 song set list. Kurt: “We played for about 40 minutes and most of the songs were off of Incesticide so they (the audience) didn’t recognize anything.” Reality: They only played 4 songs that appear on Incesticide - Beeswax, Sliver, Been A Son, and Aneurysm (the last 3 were regularly played in most of their 91/92 concerts). They played 9 songs off of Nevermind, including Lithium, In Bloom, and Come As You Are, so I’m sure the audience did recognize at least a few songs. Kurt just liked to exaggerate and editorialize things in interviews, to fit whatever overall narrative he wanted the journalists to report. EDIT: Also, the band played for over 80 minutes, about double the time that Kurt suggested in that interview.
@NirvanaGuitars23 күн бұрын
He was known to exaggerate and be a storyteller in interviews. Notably for the sleeping under the bridge story, by all he accounts he never actually spent the night under the Wishkah bridge

@ Very definitely. Michael Azerrad has also pointed out that Kurt would often intentionally play down his mainstream rock aspirations & influences, and play up his indie/punk rock influences, because he was self conscious about being viewed as a “sell out”. And that Kurt had a habit of casting himself as the protagonist in a life filled with battling various evil-doing bogeymen, such as small-town homophobes & jocks in Aberdeen, sexists everywhere (case in point, the Argentina gig), and nefarious mainstream media journalists who (according to Kurt & Courtney) were conspiring & lying about their drug use to get their daughter taken away from them.

Hello! I'm Luis, 55 years old guy from Argentina (Living in Spain). I was at Ferrocarril Oeste Stadium that night, and I want to say a couple of things about that show. There wasn´t 60.000 people that night (the place isn´t big enough), we were less than 20.000, but I think that was the biggest Nirvana show as a headliner at that moment. Specially I want to talk about Calamity Jane´s show. It´s true that people was throwing things during their set but it wasn´t a sexism thing. In those years Argentina had seriuos political and social problems and the crowd was really wild in every show. It was like people wanted to see just the group they paid for and ALL opening acts had a hard time. I'm not saying that was a good attitude, but Iron Maiden played the same venue the year before that and Magnum (an all guys british band) had to leave the stage after three songs. Nowadays there is a very different situation and people go to a show like this to enjoy all the bands. Apart of that, I really enjoyed Nirvana´s set because they played all those hidden gems that I liked. It´s true that there were people that only knows 'Smells like teen spirit' from the radio and they were pissed off... but who cares? For me it was a great night. (Sorry about my english)

Anyways, long live Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, thank you brother!

Another great tone video from the master himself. This is pretty unrelated but I just recently bought the JOYO american sound pedal as a alternative to a sansamp. Now i can only get it to sound good by cranking the level very high up. Now this is an issue because i run a small amp from my bedroom and cant really turn it up that loud so i end up sacrificing my clean tones entirely. I was wondering if there is some sort of pedal i could buy or something else to change the volume of the joyo without turning the joyo down itself. Thank you
