Man, this song brings back one of my happiest memories. Last pep rally before I graduated highschool, a few of my buddies (whom were in guitar class) and I (I was the drummer for the jazz band) got together and played this song for the whole school.

Was standing around with some friends in a parking lot when I first heard this song on the radio. I was 19 at the time and going to junior college. We knew by the first chorus that we were listening to a transcendent piece of music. Then we saw the video later that evening. Goosebumps. Everyone knew the minute they heard it. Pure magic.

Yep. My bandmates and I were in our rehearsal space when we first heeard/saw this track on Raw Power (The UK version of Headbangers Ball). It was one of those "Holy _shit!"_ moments. We'd already heard of Nirvana - after Sliver they were pretty big in the UK, but this was something else. Just blew our acid-fried minds! God, I miss the nineties. People were cool about stuff, but it was still ok to tell jokes. People with different opinions could still be friends. We were _free._ Oh well, at least _we_ got to experience that time....

Nirvana was my fav band when Kurt was alive. I first saw their music video Heart-Shaped Box, when it was new. Later I saw the music video for Smells Like Teen Spirit, on an episode of Beavis & Butt-Head. The band's name didn't show until the end. I was surprised to see it was Nirvana. Kurt looked like the punk in the movie 3:00 High. I really loved that music video. 30 years from today, I saw him perform Heart-Shaped Box live. I was excited until I saw the sad news. I took that really hard.

Awesome job as always Kris!! Just FYI, there are 8th notes on the kick drum all throughout the measure right before each chorus, when you play the 16th note fill on the snare. So many drummers actually miss this integral part of the sound of that fill. I liked your embellishment during the last verse!

I love that you actually played quarter notes on the hats during the choruses. Always thought that was a unique (and brilliant) choice on Grohl’s part. Most drummers who cover this play eighth notes, which are arguably more natural, but diminish a bit of the song’s ferocious power, imho. Good on you. The little things matter!

Hey Krissy, Dana here again. Just wanted to share with you that I was a left handed drummer then I switched and began to learn how to play guitar left handed on a right handed guitar upsidedown left-handed. It's all we had . I like rhythm guitar so I play in drop D. It's kinda limited but it's just my style. 😎
