That Martin acoustic electric that he is playing sold at auction in 2019 for approx 6.3 Million US, think that would have blown Kurt's mind.

I really love this cover of a Leadbelly song. Kurt's voice changed the timbre from desperation to auto aggression. One of the few songs where I don't prefer the original.
@ZoeStibiVocalCoach2 жыл бұрын
I agree! The intention is completely different to the original.
@krisfrederick5001 Жыл бұрын
This is an old folk song. Some people think this is a dialogue but I think it's a statement about someone leaving. "Where did you sleep last night?" Wasn't just a song on this cold New York November night, but a direct question from Kurt to his wife. Whom he knew was cheating on him at the time. That scream and that stare no less, chills forever. "Oh this guy representing the Leadbelly estate wanted to sell me his guitar for $500,000..." Well Kurt, I think you outdid your favorite performer by a long shot. The one you played his song on sold for 6 million.

I saw Nirvana in concert in1993. His voice fry through the entire concert. Best concert ever. He could scream just like on the album all night long. No problem on his vocal chords. He would do the same thing the next night. He could just do that like it was easy for him. I think it was something he was born with. Anybody else would have lost their voice after on song.

100%! We definitely don't know why some singers can sing like this for a long time while others struggle no matter how much experience they have. But we definitely hypothesise that it is due to the muscles in the larynx, Much like some people being long distance athletes and is being sprinters

Leadbelly is the only musician that was pardoned from prison for the greatness of his music.people have been covering his music for almost 100 years with little change to the original arrangement.most every song that you hear are probably influenced by Leadbelly's sound. R.I.P. Leadbelly and Kurt I'll listen to the collaboration when I get there brothers.

Just to let you know, Kurt might've been singing healthy here but when touring plus when they recorded the album nevermind it wasn't uncommon for him to Blow his vocal cords , there's an interview on YT where Dave says Kurt blew his voice on tour and the management got him to see a vocal teacher and the vocal teacher gave Kurt a cassette tape to try and learn how to sing properly , whatever that means lol anyway Dave said they put the tape on and just laughed their asses of at it , p,s, please don't take any offense I know you are a vocal teacher and I'm not having a pop at you I'm just letting you know a little of the history ✌️
