I wonder if this pattern would work as a potholder. Just making it larger? Would the holes of the half double and double crochets be too large and allow the user to get burned?

You can try working the last two rows with single crochet. Or you can minus one row at the end 🙂

I'm a beginner with crochet. Whenever I tighten my magic circle after doing the slip knot, the heart seems to ruffle and lump up. Am I doing something wrong here?
