Why do you take railways as means of exploitation? Why don't you take it positively? Railways were a great gift from Britain. Indian people should be proud of such gifts.

A gift? A gift is something you give to others to make their life easier or by keeping their interests in mind. Did English facilitate railways for Indian economy to grow? No. Absolutely not. It was to further and ease their own wealth sucking schemes, like a blood sucking leech. The benefits, you talk about, were all accidental. Besides countries, that were not colonized, did develop railways. Did they not? They were slow but got there, that too, without the need of a colonizer.
