Sir, that's how I calculated HPR at 25:47, can you please check To calculate the holding period return (HPR), we need to consider the total return from the bond, which includes both the coupon payments and the change in price. Here's the breakdown: Initial Investment: Rs 1000 Coupon Payment Year 1: Rs 1000 * 10% = Rs 100 Reinvested Coupon: Rs 100 * 20% = Rs 20 Coupon Payment Year 2: Rs 1000 * 10% = Rs 100 Selling Price: Rs 1250 Total Return: Rs 100 (coupon year 1) + Rs 20 (reinvested coupon) + Rs 100 (coupon year 2) + Rs 1250 (selling price) - Rs 1000 (initial investment) = Rs 470 Holding Period Return (HPR): HPR = (Total Return / Initial Investment) * 100 HPR = (Rs 470 / Rs 1000) * 100 = 47% Therefore, the holding period return for the bond is 47%.

At 14:20 According to me there is slight might in calculation of bond- You have used formula of perpetuity means bonds will be till infinity. Correct answer will be 1035.66 RS. Assuming maturity of bond - 3yrs and you are investing in 2 year coupon rate -10% market rate -8% For 12% Ans should be - 966.20 RS. If we think logically your answer was 1250 (100/8%) but the person will get only (100 +100 +1000) =1200 Even market rate -8% and coupon rate 10% you are at loss, and why someone would do that as money have time value. I'm not sending this to criticize, it just to pass on right information. What you are doing is great even i am watching and leaning. And honestly I'm huge fan of your smile specially when you crack jokes at that little smile on your face🥵 THANK YOU FOR PROVINDING THIS SERIES, WATING FOR MANY MORE TO COME ❤

The actual value of a bond is the present value of future cash flows at the discount rate (i.e the current interest rate). Thus the price of a 1000 FV, 3 year, 10% coupon bond when current interest rate is 8% will be 100/1.08 + 100/(1.08^2) +1100/(1.08^3) = 1051.5

How can YTM and HPR be same? Sirji YTM is based on present value concept and HPR doesnt uses such concept. please clarify the same
