We have lived with this for 10 years and we just accepted it because we did not want to spend the money to have it fixed. Then, we needed to replace the tail light and found out you must open the door to change the bulb. So I tried your solution and it worked. Thanks so much for this video as this is the first one that was reasonable to me. God bless !!!

thank you so much ,i need to fix my daughters cube it is still working but makes noise i disconnect the power to it ,so it does not get stuck till i get a new lock ,i found one in a junkyard but the door would not open ,now i know how to open it ,thanks again ,best regards from Canada.

He said (this is my husband in the video) he broke off the plastic cover over the latch thing post a pic I'll show him what your talking about he never checks the messages. I just happened to be looking for his video to show a friend how he fixed my trunk they have the same car and problem lol

I was about to do this, when I found another video that showed it's even easier than this. The problem is a lot of dirt and gunk gets into the latch and that latch actuator contraption that makes it stick. You just have to spray A LOT of WD 40 in the small whole on the covering of the latch actuator that you broke into and keep trying to lock/unlock/open until it does. Then clean off the latch with WD-40 too.

I should made another video how i fixed it but it was too late it did happened again and i open the lock there's a small chain spring tensioner gets weak i bent it a little bet to give the tension to it and got fixed never happened again maybe yours had different issue
