Nissan launched the Z33 (or 350Z) Fairlady Coupe in 2002, succeeding the Z32. The design style has changed a lot, and it was avant-garde at the time. In 2006, Nismo launched the Fairlady Z Version NISMO Type 380RS-Competition race car in order to participate in the Japanese endurance race Super Taikyu (スーパー durable), focusing on changing the engine, increasing the volume of the original 3.5L V6 engine to 3.8L. Later, in 2007, Nissan retuned the car and launched a road version, which is the Fairlady Z Version NISMO Type 380RS in the film.
