super video, I am finishing up a 1984 VW Rabbit with a 3rd Gen Toyota Prius inverter and transaxle but I went the ZombieVerter VCU route, great video none the less

Working on my own openinverter board with an EM61. Would be overjoyed to get a look at your inverter parameters. Very excellent work -- so smooth.

I think you will need to reinforce the frame of the cart much more to handle all that power and torque. But man seriously you will give Brian a run for his money😂. Can't wait for the showdown!!

Frame renoforment is coming very soon and yes I now have an abundance of power lol

Question: You used the Toyota inverter because the Nissan inverter did NOT provide DC to DC converter? Is that correct?

Hey, brilliant video. I want to build a solar boat. I've been looking at various electric motors to power the boat and have come down to the idea of installing a Nissan Leaf motor. The reasons are several. The steel hulled boat I plan on converting weighs around 20 tonnes. The diesel engine in there at the moment is a John Deere 150 horsepower. After looking at Elco electric motors used in the marine environment, it looks like an equivalent to the 150HP one would be around 100kW. These aren't cheap ($20,000). Since the Leaf's motor is around 80kW, I reckon it may do the job PLUS the Leaf has been sold worldwide so replacement parts if needed will be available as opposed to specialised leisure parts, which anyone knowing the marine and motorhome markets, cost a fortune. Anyhow, after looking at various Leaf videos, do you think I'd be able to remove everything from the Leaf (motor, battery, ECU, gearstick, throttle, cooling system) and just transplant it into a boat, without the need for reverse engineering any of the separate parts etc? I'm now going to watch the rest of your videos.

Sure, gen3 (2010-2013) Prius inverter, 2011 Nissan Leaf motor(em61), open inverter Prius gen3 logic board. Head over to openinverter.org to check out the build forums
