I bet that takes precious battery power. It's electric. You can't jump start it if the battery runs out. Flat battery means you're going nowhere until you can recharge it.

Why being so cynic? Have you test driven one? Never mind your misconceptions on the benefits of not having pollution in the atmosphere. Try driving one for a day without getting a grin on your face, when you put the foot down.. Try doing, instead of imaging all the most negative things in the world. It helps.

You're wrong. Please do a bit more research. You're missing the "global" bit in the name. It's a Globat Climate Change. It DOES NOT mean that it will get warmer where you are. I live in Kent. It's plenty warm here. Also, Go and test drive an electric car. Start with something like BMW i3 or Tesla. Do not come back here until you do so.

So how do you jump start a Pertrol or Diesel car when you run out of fuel?

You don't. You go to a petrol station and buy some more fuel. Refueling a petrol/diesel is way quicker than recharging an electric. The shortest charging time I know of for electric cars is in some countries they have charging points that complete it in 30 minutes. Contrast this with my new Mazda MX-5. I can fill the petrol tank right up from empty in 5 minutes.
