Nissan Navara 2019 N-Guard Review and Road Test

Nissan Navara N-Guard, powered by a 2.3 litre twin turbo charged diesel engine, with a 7 speed automatic gearbox.
It's very capable off-road with its ladder chassic, electronic diff and high ride height and of the course the easily selectable 4 wheel drive.
It offers good performance, relatively good fuel economy, and is great for a long haul with electric drivers seat, full leather and very comfortable with a 4 cab - This makes it perfect for road trips...and don't forget it can tow 3.5 tonnes!

Sadly Nissan dropped a few really practical features that did not make it across from my old Tonka Toy D40 but....it more than makes up for things with the 7 speed auto box, DAB radio and the excellent ride quality. I have also regularly got 40 mpg plus and 49mpg on long motorway runs. I will probably try the Ranger next once the 2 litre becomes affordable on the second hand market as its got that slightly bigger 'American pick up" look, sad maybe but its what I like. For now though I am really enjoying this truck, its a great pick up as a lifestyle choice and I am even slowly getting used to the very un pick up look of the interior.....

They did, shame we don’t get the Pro4 X that looks something else, impressive trucks, we’ve done a fair few miles in them, saying that we like pickups in general, not driven a Ranger yet Raptor R looks to be a beast, thank you JJ

Feel like the interior lets it down slightly, wheel is a bit qashqai and the head liner would be immense in black

We've never driven the 2019 Hilux, and I think one of our favourite pickups is the X Class. It combined Navara with a V6 Merc engine. Mind you, it drank (lol) *A

Great review, just gained a new subscriber! Loved the fact that you mentioned lots of little details that most other reviewers gloss over or omit altogether. Really like this vehicle, shame they didn't add any USB ports for the backseat pax! It's the only omission in an otherwise fully loaded offering.

Planet Auto oh lovely I look forward to seeing more of her. My father used to have a Ford ranger on a 51 plate years ago. It was modded and it was a martini special with all the decals. I used to love hurling that big lump about, with its light rear end. For me it was odd trying to get used to 4 wheel drive when cornering hard.

I’ve had mine for 28k miles (12 months) now and can report 35mpg with mix of driving needs ad blue every 3.5k miles roughly, so far only a couple of warranty bits, have to say Nissan UK are totally useless, terrible to deal with. On the video (which is good) there’s mention of 10.8 0-60 I don’t think this is correct, also rain sensing wipers, not available although would be nice.

Hi Potato06 - glad you liked the review. In regards to the cover, theoretically yes, however it’s all down to the installation and fit, so it’s best to ask Nissan...If it isn’t completely sealed Truckman have a range of sealants etc. Of what we’ve read any issues are primarily due to alignment Hope this helps 👍
