This is a very common door lock problem across the entire Nissan/Renault model range. I think it applies to Infiniti also. This video and others like them are saving people a ton of money at the dealerships. Well done Matt.

No problem. I'm glad it helped people out and helped save some money. I've fixed other small annoying problems with the d40 navara like cruise control sensor and 4wd switches and I'm kicking myself that I didn't post videos on them before I sold the jeep. Glad this video helped though 👍

Dewd... I completely disassembled an actuator with the same noise, similar car. I fixed a gear... same noise. This video gives me one unit of hope. Lol thanks

Nice video dude, ive just finished putting the door back together in my D40 as i had the 'door wont open from inside priblem' sorted that now its making that horrible buzzing noise whem i lock it....guess i best get my screwdrivers back out 😅

@@justinfisher5175 Hi. So I'm not 100% sure if it will because sometimes there can be another problem with the lock then what I described in my video. If you feel confident enough to try it out then do so at least you will know if that little pin has popped out or not and the cause of your noise.

That pin is basically the child lock that for some reason they put on all the door's and not just the back one's. And the grinding in some cases is because of the child lock popping out. Most of the time it is front doors that have the problem because there is no physical child lock to switch on and off like the back doors have. If the pin hasn't popped out and your still having a problem with the noise then my guess would be the actuator in the lock. Also the pin only has to be out a millimeter or so for the noise to occur. It could have come out very little and isn't visible. If it's a d40 navara your working on its not hard to remove the door card and get a good look at the lock. Hope this helps ☺️👍

Cy Young. Hi it was a torx or also called a star head screw driver. I can't remember the size. I had a ratchet set and had a few different sizes in the set I just tried until the right one fitted snug in the head of the screw. Hope this helps you out.

Hi. I used a long fairly strong screw driver to push it back in. It shouldn't be too hard once the screw driver gets behind it. Cheers Matt.

Hi no real trick really. Just a strong flat head screw driver. If that still doesn't work take off the plastic door card/panel and you can get a bit better access to the lock. If all that fails then remove the lock completely and tap it in. If you go down that route then do something so it doesn't come out again in the future. If it really doesn't want to push back in then there could be something else wrong.

Im not 100% sure about that. Sometimes there can be another problem with the lock other than what i had in the video. If you feel confident enough to move the lock aside like i done in the video and have a look and see if that little pin has popped out then thats up to yourself. At least you will know if that is the cause of your noise or not.

It lasted for about 6 months for me. Then the small pin popped out again so I made a very simple bit to stop it from coming out again and lasted until I sold the jeep 4 years later

@@rubensoto7783 yea I was told I needed new actuator. So took jeep into the workshop on the farm and my first try I did strip out the whole door to get at it. Realized what it was causing the noise. Put everything back together then looked to see if there was a easier way to get to it without stripping out everything. That's when I done the video when I seen that the lock could be just pushed out of the way 😂😂🤣.

2016 xtrail, anyone know if the procedure is the same. There's a part of me that doesn't want to unscrew the lock without knowing incase it falls inside the door and then all the door car has to come off 😂

There is a bracket holding the central locking wiring loom so lock should not fall down. Rubber track from window also prevents this and cable from door handle to lock is short.
