What a fantastic idea, you are so clever with your use of space and build ability. I have just this week been to look at an NV200 conversion and loved it if a little expensive. Thank you for sharing......

Wow this is nice. At first I though, oh, no, this is gonna get cramped fast. But nope! It makes me wonder if a single person can realistically do van life full time in something like this. The NV 400 is better as far as space for a full timer, possibly. Maybe it could be possible to tow a trailer with bulky but somewhat light items. I'd really want to get swivel seats and that might open space for a bed in-between while leaving more of the back of the van open to fill for the most part. Also, I can rig up the stationary recumbent bike, the front part to attach to the swiveled seat for exercise, which I like to do while on the internet or with a desk surface set up. It encourages exercise and has worked for me.

The NV200 is no longer available in the USA (bummer 😕) but used ones in decent shape can still be found. After doing some research I've set my mind on this model, it appears to be the better (overall) choice compared to the Ford, the Dodge, (the Chevrolet is basically a rebranded Nissa) and the Mercedes is just too expensive for my budget. Question for you guys: What is the average fuel consumption driving on the highway at ~100 km/h. I'm basically wondering if at a hwy speed of ~60mph and very careful driving I can attain anywhere close to 30 mpg? Btw, your Nissan has manual transmission, correct?! I also noticed that the passenger seat can be swiveled facing backwards. Is this a standard NV200 feature, did you do it yourselves and if yes, why didn't you do the same with the driver's seat?! Thank you very much, happy and safe travels! 🫡👍

Good luck to you. This video shows a lot can be done with such a small vehicle. I think swivel seats would open up space to lay a bed each night. Just an idea. Also, it's possible I'm thinking to tow a light trailer with bulkier items. Even with some solar panels that can unfold out. It would be cool to have something like 6 panels essentially stacked for travel, either on roof or trailer, but within a framework could swing open when stationary. I read on Car And DRiver magazine the EPA mileage is 24 city / 26 highway. I would assume that drops off with more weight, with batteries, water tanks and such.

Nice one! How is the small rotating table attached? Is it stable enough for your uses? Just an idea, could save a fair amount of weight by cutting out the centre of non-loadbearing panels and adding cutouts as slats to the bed. Thanks for sharing!
@ThomasDew10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your feed back! Yes I could have saved quiet a bit of weight by making cutouts where possible. I will do this on future builds. The reason for not having a slat type bed is I used this van for other purposes and it made for a good loading space with the mattress removed. The table slots into a modified hub bearing that is mounted to the floor, it holds a 10kg load with no problem.

What wheels are you running on the van? Really clever build. In the US we only got the cargo version, so it's interesting to see one with a normal interior.

Briliant. The passangers at the back. Don’t have seats. So the only option is they lie down?.. And lastly, any chance they can use the belts?
@ThomasDew10 ай бұрын
Thanks for you comment @TheCagdasd1 We don’t normally use this vehicle for carting more than two people, however it is possible to remove the front section and bolt the rear seats back in and still have use of the kitchen and fridge in the back, the seatbelts work just fine when the seat is installed.

Very nice! Do you have some drowings of the build? :)
@ThomasDew Жыл бұрын
Hi there, thanks! I do have some plans that I made for the space drawn out on some A4. I have made a couple of small changes since then, so the plans are not quite accurate to the final build.

@ThomasDew Жыл бұрын
@@williedrogers6046 Hi there, as I built this one for myself I don’t have the costings. If you are in New Zealand I do have a design and build with a similar concept but for the bigger Nissan NV350.
