BTCC Primera definitely pushed the envelope! Wishing Nissan hadn't killed the S chassis, perfected the affordable sports coupé in the S15, production run was criminally short, and left the field open for Toyota/Subaru and Mazda to clean up.

Totally agree with those final thoughts... how did a company that made such cool stuff end up making such a mess of it? Also, I would really love to buy a Pao, there is something so cool about it. Does one need to be invited to go and see the collection, or are there open days too?

Easy, it’s because people in charge of the company aren’t car people! And you can sign up for a tour but it’s pretty filled up scheduled wise.

I (in the UK) don't see a lot of PAOs and Be-1s, but the Figaro is almost as common a sight as any UKDM '90s car over here. Nissan would do very well to do an electric Figaro based on the Leaf.

Just to correct you - “most of the paos and be-1’s went to the uk” - we’ve had a history of 6 be-1’s in the uk. More than a quarter of all Figaro’s have however been on our shores.

Does Fuji Heavy Industries even have something like this for Subaru? It's things like this that cement you as a car manufacturer with passion. Don't get me wrong, I love my scooby but they never really had an ounce of passion until the 22B and the SVX/Alcyone (and we know how this turned out). Nonetheless, thanks for bringing us along for an update on the collection. ed- Just checked and funny enough they have one here in the states.. I may have to schedule a vacation 😹

In Japan STI has their own little galley in Mitaka but never more than 2-3 cars in there. Plus now that the Impreza STI has gone CVT 🤷🏻‍♂️

You do know that Very Few Japanese cars went to England or Europe back in the day...60s-80s. You seem to be a bit confused on where Japan sent their cars....and it wasn't Europe!. You need to do Much research.

Remember they were also importing some US muscle cars too. And lets not forget, you drive a German car.....in Japan! 😁 Believe it or not, there is a cult of the Alfa Romeos in Japan... a bit of an underground following....Maybe get some Italian cars over..........and you know where to get them.....a Right Hand Drive country of course.....✌
