Cleaned my MAF & throttle body just now. Removed the negative battery terminal first. Assembled everything & started the engine. Engine sounds smoother now & idles slightly below 1000 rpm.

So you didnt have to do the relearn thing he was talking?
@colinjoseph72764 жыл бұрын
@@Unknown90010 you need to remove the negative terminal before you start working on the MAF sensor & throttle body so that the Settings in the ECU is not changed. Once the cleaning is completed just connect back the negative terminal & start the engine. This way, the ECU does not need to relearn as no setting was disturbed.

You have to reset the onboard computer first by disconnecting the negative battery cable for 30 seconds. That will turn the service engine light off. Then do the relearn procedure in the video.
@kappakool19114 жыл бұрын
The relearn procedure the first time I tried it after I reset the onboard computer by disconnecting the neg battery cable first. This temporarily turns off the service engine light. There's other videos that have 2 more steps to the relearn too

Can you clean a throttle position sensor?

Is there a throttle position sensor on nissan sentra 1.8? if so, Where is it located?
@uglyhp82254 жыл бұрын
all vehicles with fuel injection have a tps if the vehicle has throttle cables its the sensor on the opposite side of the cables if its a electronic throttle body then its built into the throttle body and the whole thing would have to be replaced

I'm attempting to change this tomorrow for my 06 nissan where do I find the directions on a relearn procedure for this and is this needed for the car to work
@uglyhp82254 жыл бұрын
you can disconnect the battery cables and touch them together for about 10 min that will drain the system of any memories and it will do a relearn when you restart it sometimes it will run like crap for 10 min after doing this which is normal

Can a defective of this affect air fuel ratio sensor ??
@frankmontez68535 жыл бұрын
I got mechanic to replace it on 06 Nissan Sentra 1.8L and it's still not fixed . A couple of things - 1) when I start it sometimes first thing in the morning or at lunch time at work it starts but won't rev up just stays low . No matter if I floor the pedal . 2) at red light tachometer revs up a lil over 1,000 and then dips down below that . 3) while running on the road in drive it again loses power can't rev it up . Any help will be appreciated

Started doing the same old thing not fully revving up even if I floored pedal . Now worse , rough idle even surging a lil at red light trying to push me past the braking .. seems it could be more than one cause ?? the pump was definitely not pumping and yet this wouldn't cause all the other problems would it ?
