Has Nissan designed the best small EV van? Nissan has taken a large amount of combined Renault technology to create the newest generation Townstar. Its orderable in 2 different engines, electric and petrol, cutting out the diesel variant. As for driving, the longer length model offers better handling and a more composed drive but does have a slightly larger turning circle although barely noticeable. When at the wheel of the Townstar you will have great visibility and light steering paired with a positive gear change that should impress. When looking at the vehicle you will be able to see its resemblances to its counterparts, both the Kangoo and Citan, as they do share several aesthetic features and engineering similarities. When in the cabin you’ll also feel like you in a Renault but does compare more to a car than the previous models, also offering a purchasable 2-person bench in the front if that extra space is needed. The vehicle does not contain a load flap like other competitors which does limit the length of some cargo that can be hauled. As with all EVs the payload does take a hit, so this is something to be considered when purchasing. But the standout difference between its competition and counterparts is the extended 5-year warranty that Nissan boasts on its vehicles ensuring a worry free ride in the first 5 years.
