Nissan X-TRAIL idle relearn

Most of us would have at some time battled with a Nissan that refused to relearn its idle. Using the TaT search function, this is a great example of how easy it is to search for any tips when you come across a vehicle being stubborn with what should be a simple scan tool function. For those who need to know the the setting tolerance is between 700 and 1500rpm. If its higher put a small air leak in the intake by loosening the intake pipe after the air mass to lower the rpm and try the reset then! If it's hunting between 1500 and 2500rpm the idle relearn won't work

Have a T30. There is a manual way that is bloody hard. Like turn key off and on 7 times in 20sec, Leave key in on position put throttle to floor, up and down 10times in 60seconds( don't lose count) and it goes on throw about 5steps. Has to be spot on or doesn't work. Best to pay to get scan tool to do it. Or don't remove MAF sensor on air filter with keep on or remove battery has caused problem for me.

it does not work on some T30 models second series xtrail your method does not work i know because i have ran the software to fix the issue on xtrails

i have done it it requires a scan tool to be hooked up , i used a scan tool and had to purchase the specific VIN software and ran the program , its called a TPS throttle relearn procedure , the scan tool cost me like $70 and then the software through thinkcar cost another $25

you would be wrong then I have fixed this issue using a scan tool and it is a TPS throttle postioning sensor relearn essentially an idle relearn . clearly you dont know

Nissan x-trail 2005 idle up and down 1200 to 2000 rpm 1- key on 3 sec 2- 5 pedal strokes in 5 sec 3- wait 7 sec 4- press the pedal and wait for the engine light to flash at least 10-15 times and when it stops release the pedal and start the engine then engage the D while holding the brake you should see the rpm drop and stabilize around 800-900 rpm let the engine run 20 sec works for me

Tried this with a manual, put it in 1st gear with the with the foot on the brake and using the clutch load the engine until it brings the idle down, work for me

you have to get a scan tool that can download software which costs about $25 for the VIN specific software , you then run the program with scan tool hooked up , its called a TPS relearn i know because i have fixed this issue in the xtrail

load the engine up (not good I know) but work for Nissan and works everytime.
