The latest Nissan X-Trail looks very similar to the hugely successful Nissan Qashqai crossover. Although four-wheel drive is an option, this X-Trail is intended primarily for on-road use, where its to user-friendly controls and very economical 1.6-litre diesel engine make a lot of sense. Quality inside is improved compared to the previous model, too. The X-Trail is now the only Nissan crossover with seven seats and it should prove an excellent family car.

How good are the back seats on long trips? I mean if the adults are small and they fit in well are they comfortable on long trips in terms of the suspension? I think the bumpiness at the rear seats are a multiplies compared to the middle or front seats?

I have 2015 tekna 4wd 1.6 diesel and i can get over 50 to the gallon on a run, did get it re mapped for a bit more power and its made huge difference to how much more enjoyable it is to drive.

By far way better than the Skoda, its credibly has been proven, in terms of style comfort and safety never mind off road ability. It gies without saying Nissan xtrail is the best. Peugeot can not be put in the same league as the xtrail, its a ridiculas comparison of which the xtraol is syill tops. Actually the touch scrern is just the right size, unlike others they serm to be more of a distraction to a driver. Well done Nissan loved the last generstion xtrail and also love this one, its best in class no doubth.

I agree its not a good comparison as X-Trail is a adequate car to do minor off-roading in and Peogeot is not even available with 4 wheel drive.

Hi all, does anyone have the new nissan xtrail 2018 1.6 petrol nconnecta? I am buying my first car and I got a pretty good deal (7000 euro's off, new car) still there are a few things wich keep me from buying. Do you think the engine is powerfull enhough? I dont need a sports car. but i want to be able to easely bypass traffic on the motorway. Second what do you think of fuel evonomy? And third, are you happy overall with the car and is it reliable? Thanks in advance :) and any thoughts are welcome aswell.

I have to say the review was a bit vague previous reviews on carbuyer are much better clear and not to long. I mean the large bottle is very Irrelevant that people aren't going to the Saraha dessert. Plus reviewing a car is THE POINT ON WHAT THE CAR IS FOR like what it's meant and it's pros and cons. The lack of attention to the vehicle is poor ok I mean comparing it to a peaguet 3008 is OK but saying cons about the x trail that it is not a capable vehicle to the Peugeot 3008 is not OK

Anything less than 2litre diesel is probably under powered. Nissan seem to be introducing tech you dont need to maintain higher prices. You dont need driver lane assistance if you use your brain. However most drivers I see are not thinking and are texting. Garmin Satnavs are now much better than in car sat navs. Cameras and sensors all round are useful aids. Nissan fit useless tech rather than improving mechanics and introducing more/ better engines eg lane deprture warning should have a driver presetable minimum and maximum preset speed just like any driver aid should give full driver control. Still considering this model it seems a bit chunky , but does have a great shape , build quality looks great , sounds a bit rough but you could let that go because of the looks , defiantly passes the big bottle test ! and the dirtier you get this thing the better, bet it sounds fantastic when you you give it some . Now the car , hate it.
