Long sleeve is for an aluminum rod to help give structure and help with load distribution. I have one in the Hillpeople Gear Backpack for hauling game.

Nice looking bag. I can see that this could make a good vlogging backpack for batteries in the pack and the water hose opening for the power and data cables to your camera fixed to the strap. That long 'pouch' in the back may be suitable for a selfie-stick, like for a Insta360? Probably too narrow though.

When I was in school my backpack had the same long pocket and had a somewhat flexible metal bar along it, which I took out, but I guess it was meant to take a better shape of your back after some time.
