Nitecore Intellicharger i2 Battery Charger Review

My vape iTaste takes 18650 batteries. I knew nothing about these batteries not have I ever seen them. My old vape pen I charged like a cellphone and it worked great but didn't last very long. I spent a week week in a half researching the batteries. Radio shack was the only place I figure that would have them but they had the protected one. My vaporizer could on fit the unprotected one. Finally I found a place that sells the batteries for a nice price but realized I didn't have no way to charge them. This charger came up a ton while looking and a vape shop close to me actually sells the i2 and i4. I didn't really see the need for the i4 since I only use the batteries to vape. I really like the i2. I'm glad it stops charging when the battery is full and if there is something wrong with the battery the charger will blink and let you know. Great video

Thank you for your review. I recently got the 2016 version with the C & V buttons on it. The instructions are written in broken English and I can't make sense of it. Your review at least told me that blinking = charging and solid = charged. That's something I didn't learn from the other 5 videos I watched.

I agree with him. I bought the charger and to be honest the best charger I've used. It charges my AA batteries for my xbox controller and my e cig Snowwolf 200w, Sony batteries and it does its job. Top charger.

Thanks for the review. Just for your information the CE rating means it has been indipendantly tested to meet European safety standards. The CE rating is as exacting & in some cases more so than a UL rating. The i2 charger is a very safe charger.

How long does it normally take for your 18650 to charge from completely dead?

Alexander Szabo depending on Mah capacity 2-4 hrs. I bought a new 3100 Mah purple efest 20A, when it came it was nearly dead and it took 3-4 hours. a 2500 mah battery from dead should take 3 hours + or - 30 mins. If it is taking more than 4 or 5 hours something is wrong.

Near the end of your video, you replaced the fully charged battery and after the test check it displayed only two lights on and one blinking...so was it fully charged or not? ds

I have the same one. and when I charge my batteries, n they full charge. all 3 led light stay on... r they supposed to,or should they go off.when fully charged????

Best batteries for vaping are LG HG2 3000mah I use it in my IPv4s and have never had a problem

Would be nice if the blinking would gradually speed up as it gets closer the the next light. so for example at 33% charge one light would be on, but on 45% charge the second light would blink once every half a second but at 60% charge it would blink once every tenth of a second. up till 66% where it would then have a solid light and move onto the next led. I think this might be a bit better of a way of telling how full batteries really are.

Now I just need to understand why my device that takes two batteries seems to be draining only one of them and the other stays nearly full... Is that normal or is it a problem? Do I need one battery to help charge the other? Will that even work with an Intellicharger since the two bays are independent of each other?

The charger charges them separately. As for one getting drained and not the other, that is not normal in my experience. They should drain equally at the same rate. Something must be screwy.

@@Growyourheirlooms Well, I charged them both in the intellicharger (took about 4 hrs on each one separately to be sure) and my vape now shows equally full power in both of them and the vape even seems to be working better and faster than it did when the batteries were (supposedly) new. Thanks.

Emily Alexandra or its completely dead. if its just one bar for a like half an hour or an hour then just throw it away, and the batteries that come with the charger aren't the best.

Emily Alexandra To me that would mean that the cell is drained very low but no big deal. As long as it gains a bar in the next hour or two. if it sits at one flashing bar for more than 2 or 3 hours the battery is almost surely junk. hope this helps

@@emilyalexandra9202 if its a li-ion batery then you can actually recharge and repair when its overdrained, so you can make it alive again. Only li-ion!!! And after 5 attempts throw it away if it still didnt work. Place the overdrained battery only, the press and hold both buttons.

Yeah but only 1 at a time and you will have to set it to 1mah charging (red light)

i noticed that when i put a single 18650 battery on the right side of the charger, the 3 lights come on about 2 seconds later. if i use the left side with a single 18650 battery it shows that its charging with the 1 of the lights blinking. is that normal that i have to use the left side only when charging one battery? thanks.

No that's not normal at least in my experience. You should be able to use any bay you want. I have noticed with the cheap batteries, I get different reading sometimes too.

Nox Thats not normal. I use this almost exclusively with one battery in it and have never had any issue with either side with only one battery. fyi: I have used it in different configurations 18650 both sides, 18650 one side and 18350 onother and vice-versa. no issues ever. good luck. The only thing I can think is try different batteries and if the problem persists then it the charger. if the problem goes away with new batteries then your batteries are junk.

22foe if its flashing like normal and gains a light after an hour or so then your fine. if the flashing stays at one bar over a long period your battery is junk. if you get all bars right away and you know the battery is not fullycharged then the battery is junk. a good rule of thumb is that anythig outside of what it "should be doing" is generally a bad cell. good luck my friend

I think the charger is good for nearly dead batteries. In my box mod with the USB adapter, I can't even get the screen to come on because I let the batteries drain... so charger time!

It will charge all 18650 Li-ion batteries regardless of MAH or Amp rating. all Li-ion(IMR-INR-ICR) have the same voltage standards. the Mah is jsut the capapcity and is independent of the voltage which is what the charger detects to know when the battery is full. at 3.2 volts it is considered drained or dead. at 4.2 volts the charger considers the battery fully charged regardless of Mah. Higher Mah just takes longer to get to 4.2. hope this helps. good luck.

+Reyna Gailani (Reynabhoy07) Mine does because one of my friends for some retarted reason took off the plastic casing around my battery and when I tried to charge it my Intellicharger started smoking and the battery burned a hole through the metal transmitter. The battery and the damaged charging slot are toast but the intellicharger is still working using the other slot. It makes a hissing noise when charging but I'm not worried. Although it takes much longer to charge a battery so I need to get a new one.

+Bob Elsley You are never suppose to use unprotected cells, it did that cause it shorted. And could blow up. Re wrap your batteries even with the slightest tears in the pvc sleeve. This is why so many vapers are hurting themselves cause they are not using basic battery safety.
