T4k doesn't stay to max power for very long, kind of defeats the purpose of going for the more powerful one, rather get a lower max power torch and be able to use it to max potential

Anyone who buys either of these trying to MAIN their 1k-4k output is a clown. The niche is that it's a USEFUL 200lm EDC belt-mounted light that can be used as a headlamp when clipped to a hat and CAN hit a brief party lumen setting if the moment calls for it.. but NOT to be bought as a light that rests on 1k+. In fact, not even tactical full size lights (like the p20i/x or p23i etc) are meant to be used like that either. The only light you're looking at to rest on 1000-4000 luments as the main running mode are very FAT flood/spot lights with over 8 LEDs. usually in the 300-500 dollar range and they are unwieldly and gross in day to day life. Those will usually burst 9000-20,000 luments. but rest on the lower thousands of lumens. So there's some perspective for ya.

I personally have the Tini 2 , its bright enough to get things done when you need it and its smaller so its easily portable which is why it stays on me with my keys
@twrcrew8852 Жыл бұрын
@@geo9994 I bought a tini 2 for my girlfriend. The problem with Tini and Tiki is that they are just keychains. only if you like a landyard flopping around your neck as a bundle of keys and flashlight hits you in the chest as you walk and run. I always used to hold my keys to prevent it. But the Tip SE, TUP and T4K are much better due to the clip. they can be worn like a holster, close and tight to the body rather than hung and swung.
@twrcrew8852 Жыл бұрын
@@geo9994 I will defend the Tiki though because it is neat. especially when it can glow blue or green as you wear it around for fun. If the Tini 2 had a tiny clip, it could be strapped to a belt loop and be amazing. currently, you could still clip the D ring of the keychain onto it as well but, it is not quick draw.

What? They put a smaller battery in the 4k lumen? I have the TUP but that drop drown to 200 lumen on the new one is a deal breaker. Would have been nice to have type c though
@twrcrew8852 Жыл бұрын
nobody can expect to have a 4k lumen pocket rocket goofy. it's a feature, not a mode. you want a 4k lumen RUNNING light, you're looking at a 300-500 dollar FAT light that mains 4000, and has a max of over 20,000 typically.

I'm surprised they have a smaller battery in the bigger light

Hey, I bought the T4K and I’ve noticed that its beam is slightly yellowish or warmer compared to my old TUP. Have you noticed it too?
@LumenMaxEDC3 жыл бұрын
Slightly yellowish green in the outer ring of the hotspot and white inside. Less noticeable on turbo. Only noticeable when you shine it at a white wall. Should not be noticeable outdoors.

@@LumenMaxEDC Yes, the T4K is very bright. Its beam covered my neighbor’s car headlight even if his car is on high beam lol.

TUP since it has a larger battery, but TUP is missing the 1-lumen mode and the 4000-lumen mode.

Love my T4K as an EDC however I've found the runtime indicator to be absolute garbage. It stays at 2:45 on the 200 lumen mode for awhile and then all of a sudden shows the runtime in minutes and catches you by surprise. It's far from what I expected (live count down in seconds) as they make it seem.
@uberepicoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Might be a stupid question but to activate the total 4000 lumens does it require you to hold in the button the hole time..
@LumenMaxEDC2 жыл бұрын
Good question. Yes, you have to press and hold to use turbo. Safety feature. Gets hot ;-)

For 100 years flashlights came with replaceable batteries, which enabled you to keep using them in the field if the batteries ran dry, and to keep using the light itself for decades. Nowadays many manufacturers want you to pay hundreds of dollars for lights that are essentially throwaways and cannot be swapped in the field. They choose to do this so they can sell you another light in a few years when this one dies. It's creepy and gross and I won't do it. Besides, these lights are too blocky for EDC.
