As someone who has the F21i, P10i, P10ix and a 4 spare 21700 battery in my EDC/kit set up, the F21i gets used a lot as a powerbank and charger. Having a 22g piece of kit that is extremely versitile is awesome, essential really, I hope it will not fail. It does get hot and the elastic band does get stretched out, so I've noticed some contact issues every now and then. I hope you didn't discontinue it because it makes your chargers and battery banks somewhat replaceable, it is a fantastic kit for military, law enforcement etc use, I'd much rather buy this for a higher price than any high weight and space extra accessory that can't be combined with things I already need to carry. The fact that I can charge a battery in a flashlight if I don't need one and use the F21i as a battery bank for electronics while moving around in daylight is an absolute necessity in my book. This little piece of kit is probably one of your greatest products, improve it, bring it back to the market, higher cost is completely justified, like I said, essential part of the 21700 series kit.

You guys should add some threading around the edge of the parameter on the top, and then you could have a whole line of compatible attachments that could screw on. For example; you could sell adapters for each of the usb types, that user could snap onto the end of their cord, along with the matching part that screws onto top of battery bank and a it would make it a combination between a magnetic charging cable (that doesn’t suck) and an aviator style connector ☺️ That’s just one idea, but I can think of dozens of other things too. The threading would securely hold things in place (biggest issue I’ve had), and would allow this awesome product line to continue to grow.

Another idea; battery pack slides into/screws in to attachment that gives battery pack a slight flange at the top and bottom of the battery. Then a cord can be plugged in under the top flange pointed down along battery (rather than sticking straight up), and cord could be wound up around the body of the battery. It would turn it into a mini cord reel, with the battery being the center pin of the reel

What Nitecore always never clearly state is the charging current. .5, 1A, 2A ?

it's on the label in the website... Output 5v @ 2.4A / 2A/ 1.5A - depending on your cord capabilities.

I hope you will have one of these for when we are able to buy 4680 batteries.
@twrcrew88522 жыл бұрын
who the hell wants to carry that in their EDC??? if I wanna carry a soda can around, i might as well stick to slim form factor 10,000mah power banks available at every gas station that fits between my smartphone and the wall of my pocket. The point of this F21i is to eliminate the need for carrying larger power banks while enabling you to have say a set of 3 spare 21700s for not only the flashlight but diverse and dividable power banks for your phone that can easily be split 3 ways while taking up less space than the traditional generic brick power banks that can't hot-swap into your light for instantaneous reload. (and likewise- sacrifice your flashlght's battery itself to serve your phone for a 4th battery option).

@@twrcrew8852 The 4680 cell should be the lightest for mAh capacity. I am a thru-hiker and usually take a 20k mAh pack and sometimes runout of juice.
@twrcrew88522 жыл бұрын
@@duanehundley In the military - which has similar situations to hiking - I find I have way more utility with say 4-6 5k mah cylinders divided across my pouches/body for better distribution and divisibility. a single 20k monolith is hard to store and locks down quickly (charging 1 thing at a time, charging it by itself, making it unavailable). The 21700s can be divided amongst devices, broken down, use one while charging 3 etc and be shuffled from lights to charging duty. Before I did the light thing (as a hobby), I used to carry 2x Baseus slim 10k mah bars in my pockets. they are almost a perfect fit in 30rd mag pouches or pants pockets. but they are physically the size of maybe 4 21700s each 2x stacked side by side. so in the space I can hold 10kmah, I'd now hold 20k as 5k x 4. again, being able to place these little cylinders in pockets that weren't usable with a bigger object before is definitely game changing. My main pockets could then hold other things and I gain space without sacrificing backup juice.

@@twrcrew8852 how much does 5x4 =20k in 21700 weigh and the items you need to charge them and use them as chargers. The nitecore nb20000 is 11.45 oz

@@duanehundley you can't just look at it from a spec sheet competition. practicality is worth way more. Again i mentioned distribution. It's much easier to carry 4 batteries and 4 nightcore IBS's (literally a cap that turns the battery into a charger) and 4 sets of cable than to carry a single battery block. 4 cables rolled up can fit into any slim pocket (choose length wisely of course). 4 batteries will fit in tiny cylindrical pockets, or 4 in a single EDC pouch the size of a folding wallet once full (which some can also fit the cables + IBS all in one spot). The overall dimension will be smaller. Also consider that most power banks are bulkier than the battery within to account for BMS, a thick (usually aluminium) protective casing, charge ports, and some sort of insulation if any. These batteries are just batteries. The 4 IBSs can be stacked and 4 of them would come about to the length and width of a 5th battery. it weighs next to nothing as well as it's made of a small cut of circuit board with input/output ports and plastic.

I wish they still made this. I have the prior model (which they stupidly still make and sell... lame). And it's USB A on a magnet, but works like a slug. you better be about to sleep before trying to use it. because it's only 1A. This F21i was a 2.4A charger... i don't know why nitecore messes themselves up by pulling their best products early.

The previous model is magnetic, this one was the "cure" to the magnet one, but the magnet version is very slow charging 1A USB A (aka worhtless) and the charge port is micro USB (aka worthless) :/
@twrcrew8852 Жыл бұрын
but I agree, if they had magnet USB C and 2A+ charging, it would be fixed and longevity ensured.
