Its so beautiful, its amazing to me. so much culture and tradition. Im Spanish and my heritage has traditions too, but i am amazed and in awe of how lovely these dances are. Another favourite video of mine on the amalgamation of three classical dance forms of India. I always love any song/dance performance on Gods and Goddesses. Needless to say that each of the performers have justified their parts. Also, I love the synchronisation and the choreography of the three dance styles. Thank you guys for putting up such a wonderful video for us to learn and perform further.

True..Bharat Natyam is popular in India but Odissi and Kathak are immensely popular abroad because of their special and unique moves..now a days belly dancers love to fuse with Odissi moves...trust me....

Ss yp I agree! Though I have learnt both the styles but find it a bit difficult to perform Odissi. That’s because once you are accustomed to Bharatanatyam, it becomes a bit difficult to bring in the poise and grace (very much needed) to perform Odissi. However, I’m not saying that Bharatanatyam doesn’t need to be performed gracefully but somehow with my experience I feel that an Odissi performer needs to be poised and graceful. This is solely my observation and experience.

Odissi is the toughest one as well! Its solely because of the postures and poses which should come up as the flow of water so precise and beautiful! I am not here to compare any classical dance ! All are equally beautiful! Some people from the state you seem to be can't ever appreciate anything other than your own state! I never saw this kind of things in Karnataka or other states of South and other parts of India! Grow up!

I can tell Odissi apart because of the outfit. But how do you tell bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi apart?

Late reply But still may help. Odissi, Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi have some differences they may look similar as they have the same origin. Odissi represents the element of water so, it has more graceful and smooth moves whereas Bharatanatyam represents the element of fire so it has sharper and angular moves. The Kuchipudi dance comes between Odissi and Bharatanatyam. it has both kinds of moves but is Less sharp than Bharatanatyam. Plus both Odissi and Kuchipudi emphasise more on abhinaya which means drama so there are more facial expressions.

Kathak ! OMG ! It was so elegant. I am a bharathanatyam dancer to be true bharathanatyam wasn't that much beautiful infront kathak . Well done to all the classical dancers .
