10:15: just a quick clarification as someone who has played KCI for a bit. You actually can't pay mana for a 0 mana spell, the spell has to cost at least one in order to have the opportunity to activate mana abilities to pay for it.

Hey, I have a deck with most of these cards in it! Commander: Marchesa, but in a Modular build. Ashnod's altar, KCI, Mechanized Production, Syr Konrad, Yawgmoth, Kazul's Fury, Revel in Riches, Time Sieve, Thopter Assembly, Pitiless Plunderer, Goblin Welder. So much fun to do all the Johnny Things! You've also given me ideas for so many other cards to add: Necrotic Ooze, Living Death, Frantic Search, Mana Geyser, Hellkite Tyrant? Perhaps I should call the deck "Oops, all Johnny cards!"

Add in a Mycosinth Lattice, you can put the +1/+1 counters from modular on any creature and it makes them all sac-able to KCI too. Makes it easier to steal things. And March of the Machines will permanently kill all lands when it’s on the field with mycosinth, or only your opponents’ lands if you have an artifact lord. Nobody has lands, and all your creatures keep coming back and getting stronger with the modular counters. Lots of fun And if you do add Hellkite Tyrant, if you have Mycosinth Lattice on the field, Hellkite becomes “steal all permanents, win on your next upkeep”

narsets reversal is a Jonny card (especially if you copy it) narsets reversal plus a bonus round efeckt(copy each spell) with that the reversal copy can bounce the original reversal and the resulting copy can bounce any other spell. With that you have created a spell(or two if you copy every spell) without using a card

10:40 I once had a "Don't win" Maralen the Mornsong deck (Just 99 swamps and a Commander, with the "Goal" being let my opponents have as much Christmas fun as possible) And a guy Fractured Identitied my Maralen! People already don't know what to do when they have a free Demonic Tutor every turn, and people were VERY confused when they had THREE Free Demonic Tutors every turn! >:)

-Living Death is so amazing, it acts as removal and a huge reanimating blowout, one of my all time favorite cards. I love using Doom Whisperer and Living Death to close a game in my Meren. - Hellkite Tyrant is another slow punch card/decoy since if it works:Awesome BUT otherwise your opponent typically HAS to deal with it, no one likes taking 6 trample damage in the air or losing a few artifacts. - Love that you mentioned Tireless Tracker/Tireless Provisioner. I've actually removed Tracker from my deck for Provisioner in most cases. I find the extra treasure just sitting there waiting to be used far more useful than a clue and a vanilla growing body. When you realize you love twiddling, high synergy/comboes and alternate win cons, you may be a Johnny :P

Specifically talking about fractured identity it was the catalyst for one of the worst/best commander games I’ve played. We had a nekusar player at the table and someone had the brilliant idea to fracture it and suddenly everyone had a nekusar and after that each draw step someone died since it was so late in the game

I have a scarab god deck dedicated to paradox haze effects. Deck seeks to win by having a massive board of zombie tokens as well as clones of Sphinx of the Second Sun and mirror made effects to make copies of paradox haze, endless ranks of the dead (upkeep trigger!) to drain my opponents out over and over or Eligeth and psychosis crawler turn my absurd scrying into card draw and damage. It works… fifty percent of the time or so? Probably needs more tutors and stax pieces, but it’s my favorite dumb Johnny deck I’ve ever come up with. Love the channel, boys. Keep up the good work as always.

Fractured Identity is a dream card for johnny. Also, I can't say I haven't thought of using an enchanted evening in a bant deck. Mana geyser and inferno of the star mounts or pyrohemia. Birthing pod is a card after my own heart.

19:38 my time has come lol one of my Buried alive piles was ooze, blighted bat, and oriq loremage. opponents let my reanimate resolve, so i gave ooze haste, tapped to entomb a devoted druid, put on a -1/-1 to untap, tapped/untapped again repeatedly to entomb my other combo pieces... yeah, gotta love ooze and loremage lol

Hey Joe Cherries, all you need for your suture priest win is this: Suture Priest+Eldrazi Displacer+Infinite Mana. Your opponents are usually going to have at least one creature. Also, honorable mention: Dramatic Scepter+Copied Scepter w/Reality Shift. Muhahaha

Can't believe you guys missed the opportunity to mention one of the most Johnny cards ever: One with Nothing. Card is so unplayable, the only way you might ever see it in a game is in some janky combo deck that cares about dumping its hand into the graveyard. It's not even the best at doing that since Lion's Eye Diamond exists lol.

My Johnniest deck is definitely Galazeth Prismari. My favorite thing to do is kick rite of replication on academy manufactor, then cast dockside extortionist or brass's bounty while reckless fireweaver is on the board for instant carnage. Another fun one is making huge amounts of artifacts with dockside or brass's bounty, then using spell burst and unwinding clock to lock opponents out. It isn't a nice deck, but it certainly combos off.

To keep with the heart of the channel, a small nitpick. You cant actually overpay for a spell. You can overactivate mana abilities, but jot overpay. I.e. Prossh, you cant just choose to pay as much as you want. I assume this was a bit of a phrasing mistake. Keep up the great content!

My favorite Johnny card is breath of fury. It can go infinite pretty fast and even if you don’t go infinite it’s so much fun to have it one one of your thirty 1/1 tokens you have and get 30 combats

birgi is my one true johnny deck. its an artifact storm deck that plays every crappy cantrip artifact possible. the usual wincon is harnfell+sensei's diving top+ a cost reducer like helm of awakening to basically draw my entire deck until i hit aetherflux resevoir. and a back up of birgi+grinning ignus+grapeshot

Joe Cherries: I run a Lagrella the Magpie deck that focuses on a fiend hunter loop (3 creatures with "When this creature comes into play, exile a creature you control, when it leaves, put it back into play, each targeting each other) as at base level, shes a 3 mana fiend in the command zone. After playing the deck, I realized two alternate win-cons in the deck: 1) Suture Priest. Lagrella allows me to target a creature for each opponent, and exile them as well, meaning if shes in the loop, I can infinitely loop any single non-token creature my opponents control, triggering them infinitely. 2) Any ETB on my opponents field that says Draw a card, Mill a card, Or lose 1 life. Read above As well, she very quickly became a very toxic environment for Commanders. 99% of the time, when I put a commander under her, they would opt to put it back in the command zone (Who wants to put their commander under this C tier uncommon legendary thats hard to read?), and I quickly learned that all of my flicker instants very quickly read "Put your opponents commanders back into their command zone and add 2 to their commander tax" I've easily had all 3 opponents up to 10 and 12 tax before. My deck could be way more toxic (I have no counterspells for example) but its my pride and joy, and my favorite to bust out. I bring this up because you wanting suture preist to be a wincon, and its my 1 in the 99 prefered wincon in tne deck Been watching you guys for years, absolutely love your stuff, youve changed how I build my decks. I felt super called out by this episode! 😅

as a spiky johnny i can say that johnny is the way to find the spike cards. just out of the meme that moonfolk is a bad tribe i decided to make a deck using all moonfolks as good as possible and i realized that oboro breezcaller is just absurd to the point where i even made a ced deck around it that can compete with the better ced decks. untaping lands for just mana is insane and even if you but the extra restriction of return a land to hand to it its still so good especially because with those land you can either get extra landfall triggers or they have abilities like mystic sanctuary. you could even combo it with suture priest and forbidden orchard, first have any land that taps for 4 mana, get oboro breezcaller and patron of the moon on the field tap and untap the land and return the land you pick up to field with patron to make +1 mana every time and with your infinite mana you now do the same but instead untaping forbidden orchard.

You can play Shrines with Paradox haze. But Shrines is probably one of the most Johnny archetypes anyway since they scale with number of shrines so yeah...

If you wanna lose friends with mycosynth lattice. Either use Hellkite Tyrant to steal someone’s entire board including their lands. Or Nev Disk with Darksteel Forge to blow up everything every turn including their lands. I can pull these off in my Daretti deck pretty easily without too much effort.
