WotC crossed whatever arbitrary line I had drawn on cost and I won’t be buying new product at these ridiculous prices. They’ve made the conscious decision to market to wealthy people and I don’t want to be a part of that anymore. Comments like: “This card is now only $12!” is tone deaf.

$12 for a card is relative. If someone offered an OG dual for $12, I would ask “where do I line up?”. Remember, single prices are driven by the market (supply and demand)-Economics 101. The issue with WoTC is their jacking up the price on sealed product with shit for expected value.

At my lgs last week a new player asked for my help with a new EDH deck so I looked at his deck, which was basically a pile of common cards. I suggested that he look through the stores bulk rare bin and find a better Gruul commander. He said he didn’t want to spend the 50 cents and he’d rather use the money to buy a drink. Dropping $200 for a decent mana base for an EDH deck means it has become pay-to-win.

Nah most of power is gonna be coming from silvers or another busted tribe you're also running. Also it's five mana and went it dies you've got to pay 7 to stitch your two tribes together, it only goes up from there.

@@Constrictor_Victor you really don't have to play slivers with her you can play any tribes you could do somthing like human tribal that also gets the buffs from warrior tribal she also makes it so you don't have to run any changlings for any tribal deck you were making in 5 colors instead just a run a good creature and now it also gets pay offs from the tribe you are running in the deck yes you can remove her to remove your deck synergy, but isn't that true of a lot of commanders? (I am a new player so don't bash me too hard for that question)

I think a redeemable way to make Zhulodok legendary is that the 3 titans must be replaced by another collective entity when they perish. Perhaps Zhulodok is meant to replace Ulamog's absence?

No what zhulodok is another avatar that the eldrazi that made Ulamog made when the Hedron where weakened so that all 3 of the eldrazis could get their avatars freed So Zhulodok is basically the same type of eldrazi as ulamog but slightly weaker then ulamog

I think Guff is stronger them you give credit for. His deck came with multiple ways to repeat planeswalker abilities. So, you could just keep copyint his -3 and burn your opponents.

Honestly the rising cost to be not competetive, but RELEVANT, is staggering. My friends who stopped playing three years ago are completely unable to get back into it since they'd have to drop at least 40-50 bucks to STILL get steamrolled at their lgs. Power creep is real and almost every lgs near me has banned proxies due to all events being wotc sponsored now

Zhulodok, Void Gorger is an avatar of the tame eldrazi as Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre that is why is a legendary creature also zhulodok is the reason why their are vampires on zendikari and when Ulamog was freed the force that controlled them when zhulodok toon control over most of them again and that is why as well most of the vampires side with the eldrazi

think the sliver gravemother power rating is kinda high tbh. no real point in encoring your dead slivers when you just win the game with first sliver as soon as you cast any spell or can combo off with sliver queen and like 5 different cards. def think gravemother is an interesting take on slivers but encore requires the cards to be in the graveyard and if you've been hit with a board wipe as a sliver player you probably just lose or will lose bc no one will let you encore them.

i think Zhulodok would have been fine to be a nonlegendary eldrazi, with an ability stating it can be your commander, much like how planeswalker commanders work.

This is still, imo, the weakest video series by far on this channel. Everything else is great, but this format doesn't really work for its purpose. The "fun", "coolness" and "uniqueness" scores are completely random. Even artwork ends up being random. If you like a card, you give it high "artwork" to make sure it's not dragged down to a lower spot. If you don't like a card, it might have amazing artwork but you will not give it a very high grade. "Fun", "Coolness" and "Uniqueness" end up just being mostly arbitrary, they don't seem to be scored in a vaccum. If you don't like a card, you won't give it high uniqueness even if it is super unique. If you like a card, even if it is the most un-original-but--powerful card ever, you will give it medium or high uniqueness. So, it ends up being manipulating this "scale" to get the cards to land where you would want them to. There are countless examples. But, just in this list, how can a card that manifests cards from the top of your library when it dies equal to its power be just a 5 for uniqueness? I would even question the 4 for coolness. How can a card that makes all your sliver have a second creature type, and crosses the streams with so many archetypes, be only a 7 for uniqueness? And 3 for coolness? It's just random. And I get it, sometimes you have to rank like 50 cards and 30 of those are boring cards that have no business being commanders, so you just score whatever. I get that now you are in to deep with this system to change it, but it feels meaningless from the outside. All the rest is great though, keep being awesome.
