In Tank primers never work very well. Try to block the exhaust and pull the starter, it's a more accurate way of priming and won't flood your engine :) Josh

I found the easiest way to do this is... Take 1 of those AutoZone reward points cards. The small ones (key chain 1s) . These cards are approximately .7mm so cut one in shape of screwdriver make sure thin enough to fit in carb and throat of idle piston. This is the perfect size for the factory reset. Mine was all messed up. Couldn't get it right. Finally ran across some feelers. Well they were to big to put down carb so I took 1 and measured things that were close to the size of the feeler. And , the rewards card was a little bigger than the feeler. Worked perfectly. Thank God. Let the fun begin

@njaslayer A good question ;) Only thing I can say is, Nitro cars have totally different systems, the engines are different as well. On a nitro engine you cant control the clutch, it works through throttle only. Which is why, if I put the car up against a brick wall and accelerated, the engine will still rev, but wont move. also, the central gearboxes of these Nitro models have slipper clutches, which means that the transmission would still spin, even if the wheels weren't :) cheers

Thank you. I got this Traxxas 2.5 tmaxx and it was seized once I got it. I took the engine apart, cleaned it, and put it back together. I got it running today but it would Rev pretty high and the wheels would start going very quickly. I had to use the brake to go a normal speed. And I blew the glow plug after about five minutes and it's brand new. So how can I lower the engine temp?

my idle screw for my hsp backwash 18 was missing and i bought a new a sh18 idle screw from wheelspin models but it won't screw in with the flat head screwdriver. is there supposed to be a little spring on the screw because on the one i got from wheelspin models there isn't a spring. btw its the same engine as this

Also you need to check when applying the brakes it doesn't close the gap else it will stall

I wonder why the Nitro Car doesn't stall if it is idling since it is connected directly to the wheels. My manual car would stall if the engine is connected to the wheels and if I apply to brakes because the wheels are preventing the engine from turning. Why doesn't that happen on a Nitro car?

Use Card and little oil to seal it it's what we do with a motorbike engine with a broken gastket

No.. Car needs to be running and engine need to be warm for tuning.

christina bush Well, assuming your nitro car is like any normal RC engine setup, you should take off the entire air filter assembly and you should see the carb, now next to the carb locate the carb adjusting screw, and then adjust it till the only hole visible is 1mm (About the thickness of a credit card)

yes had that happen just pull your air cleaner off set it with your transmitter the throttle trim and reset your idle very simple you just have the servo moving to far just back it off a little or your brakes will not work you might have the throttle rode out of ajustment 2 good luck

check your throttle trim. or just apply brake and you will see the gap change. yuor engine will still rev if your throttle isnt tight to the idle though so make sure thats properly adjusted. hope this helps
