Very interesting project well carried out, only criticism was the mod to the broken silencer manifold, reducing the internal Dia by fitting an internal tube restricts the flow of exhaust gas, a simple braze/weld process using alloy rods and blowtorch can mend these small alloy castings and effect a permanent repair without the internal restriction. The pull start is an excellent accessory to put on this motor. Well done

If the pin in the counter weight is steel, that may be the cause of much of the vibration. Maybe an aluminum pin would be strong enough.

I have never seen a Rotary Engine that is Nitro. It is so awesome the RPMs come up so fast. I just bought a Cam-Am Rotary engine 1000 it like 998 cc. I haven't even drove it yet. I am in a wheelchair i have to put my hand controls on it this week. I have always like the Rotary engines awesome the way the work.I have lot of diff RC car and 4x4 trucks that are Nitro. The sound that that made was awesome.

That little thing (OS MAX RE 49 PI-II) should have about 800W peak power output. The only good affordable way I can think of is to use two multimeters, agenerator and electric kettle as resistor. Formula to get the engines power: P = I^2 * (V / I)

That is what I wrote. Therer is no need for the brackets and then you can take the sqaure and devide cancel each other. The idea is P = I^2 * R as having a power resistor to meassure the voltage drop accross should be fairly easy (electric kettle, just poses the problem of variable resistance) and also meassure the current. P = V * I = I^2 * R = I^2 * V / I Formula looks a bit backwards, but it is practical (two multimeters should be in anyones tool box).

My friend in Puerto Rico this engine was use for RC drag cars, there are very fast. This is the first i saw with pull start, this engine was made for RC planes. Cool to see you make it run, there are expensive. Take care cool Vid :-)

that's a beautiful little engine ,,I've had a few RC engines over the years but never a rotary engine ,currently i have a 5 cylinder radial and an opposed 4 cylinder RC aircraft engine ,,and too many RC engines made from weedeater engines and chainsaw engines to remember then all ,the biggest of them is in a large RC helicopter , that one is a Husqvarna 3120 ,,120CC chainsaw engine that makes 7.7HP and 10 ft pounds of torque at 12500 RPM

Put it on a Bicycle! Make a small clutch on a sprocket and then put it onto a mountain Bike so you can shift it, and make a small gear box off of the engine as a final drive reduction gear box so that way the engine wont lug to bad.

I believe, GM experimented with this engine design years ago and the only reason it didn't hit it off was because of the wiper blades they used lasted too long! The engine was running well over 100,000 miles of hard use and exhaust emissions weren't all that good. The exhaust emissions were possible to clean up.

i wonder how far off the balance was effected by drilling the counterweight and adding the drive pin.. you may need to set up a shaft balance device with 2 bearings on each stand to support the shaft.. a zero balance plate with holes drilled in the same angle and 180 out of the mods.. you will need a new counter weight to find the balance of by adding bolts and fine tuning with thin washers till you get a zero balance on the shaft with a duplicate counterweight.. then install your counterweight and you will need to drill shallow holes or add additional weight to equal the zero balance. then your vibrations might be gone. other than that issue.. i love it.
