No one was doing the amount of flips, spins, or any bike flips before ryan. And his impact has been across scooters, bmx, fmx, and everything else because of nitro circus. pretty wild how much he's invented.

@@spelt5664 I know this is 2 months old, but I just want to say, don't be so fast to judge the guy. I mean that is a really extreme situation and I can't even begin to imagine the strain under which those people must have been. Both of them wanted it SO bad, really pushed the limit and gave it their all, no doubt. And you can see his body shaking after that one fall. Certainly was the right call for him to back out of it at that point. Anyway, with some distance I don't think he has anything to be ashamed of, performance wise. He still achieved something extraordinary, even if he couldn't pull through there. But right then, right there? Can't imagine how empty and defeated he must have felt. I don't think any of us can. Ofc it would have been nicer could he have really cheered him on - but I don't blame the guy. Insane respect to both of them.

His drive for pushing the bar higher and higher has led to an absolute monster in the right setting. If he spent as much time on park/street/dirt riding as he has big air, i think he'd comfortably be in the mix at most comps.
