Almost 20 years later and few things give me goosebumps like watching Pastrana throw that first ever double backflip.
@jorgemarquez6553 күн бұрын
I watched it on the video it still gives me goosebumps. I remember i wa about 12 watching it and the whole story about everyone worried about him, his mom the most out of anyone. Like it was insane!! He banged out 2 flips with a perfect landing and with Sal masekela and the other announcer jumping up and down. It was great!! No one had ever done it before travis

It's amazing watching the progression of fmx over the years, 1 thing has never changed, it's never just about the individual with these guys there like a family, Hats off to Travis, guys been at the forefront of it all, his experience and guidance to the younger generation is awesome to watch, I can't wait to see what the future of fmx looks like and what barriers these guys will tear through ❤

Travs double flip 360 still the gnarliest trick that doesnt get enough credit. Tb always the goat
@donnieloveall30942 ай бұрын
IMO the first double backflip by travis is the all time greatest moment in fmx history just because of how much further it pushed the sport. It was absolutely perfect execution how one judge stiffed him a perfect score is beyond me
@Marcelelpouel2 ай бұрын
and with a dirt landing too
@custard131Ай бұрын
on the perfect score situation, that is often a controversial point, but a key factor in that which tbh i dont remember, was it the last trick of the night? the reason we dont see perfect scores is partly down to the fact that the judges have to leave room incase the run/trick that follows it is even better scores in the high 90s are essentially "that was perfection but we need to keep our options open"

Travis and the nitro circus have always been the guys I look up to in this cruel shitty world. You guys sure know how to have fun! God bless you guys! (I’m 29, I live in Utah also, so I’ve watched Travis pastrana since I was 6 years old back when carey hart was innovating freestyle.)
@xpndblhero51702 ай бұрын
I think the craziest part of all of this was how Travis made it through the woods after the 360 flip without smashing into a tree.... That was very impressive. 😂 Wish I could go play at Pastranaland.... I have a few ideas I'd like to try before I'm too old to do it. 😊👍

Travis's double to dirt was more impressive than the other ones to a soft landing
@jordan66229 күн бұрын
I know I was about to say that myself but way meaner. His double to dirt in competition should have been 2nd place maybe even first. All his tricks were to dirt.

Travis skipped the backflip 360(cork 720°), went straight for the double backflip 360. I'd still love to see someone do a single backflip 360.

Corked 720 never been done on a MX bike ?
@platinumpengwinmusic55642 ай бұрын
@ No, Travis kinda landed it to mulch, but clipped the landing so bad, it stopped him in his tracks, and was definitely not something for a highlight vid. I'd link the vid if I remembered what it was called.

@shainedupuis2649 that was just the backflip 360. The double backdrop 360 is actually called an aussie roll because an Australian dude did the world's first on a bike and called it the aussie roll

Have you guys tried flipping any of the e motor cross bikes? They seem like they are getting where they are fast enough and with lighter weight they may be an option for new trick possibilities. BTW awesome video.

@jonathansoleАй бұрын

How much pillowy soft landing do these pillowy soft riders need?? Certainly aids in landing their trick and provides a big window of correction for mistakes. I guess I'm old school I grew up watching Evel Knievel. There were no soft landings, you got it right or you paid the price.
