Kareng ghar is one of the finest historical place which carry the glorious past of the ahom rule in Assam. Situated at gargaon (garhgaon)which is around 15km from sivsagar town,the place is surrounded by green,calm environment. This multistoreyed palace was built by Rajeswar Singha in the year 1752.The architecture of karengghar is very beautiful.The piece of work is really awesome which reflects the ideology of the ahom kings who lived there.The place is well maintained. One must visit this place once.

Kareng ghar was 7 stored building but during the earthquake of 1950.3 of its storyes went underground and so now presently it's 4 stored but technically it was always a 7 stored building
