I thoroughly enjoyed my time spent on this little scooter. Thanks to NIU for lending it to me!

For the mirrors, Niu M+ mirrors got you covered! I have the Niu NGT, and fitted the Givi E300NT2 30-litres top box with the Givi sr8962 rack. So there's the fix for the lack of storage! 😃

I think the beauty of this design is that the batteries are relatively easy to get to and and perhaps in the future if these scooters were popular, instead of charging batteries, the batteries could simply be unplugged and fully charged batteries could installed from a network of "fuel stations",this is the huge advantage that electric bikes and scooters have over cars, not only do they have greater range but the batteries are removable and don't require a 3.5 tonne forklift to move them.👍✌

Great idea! Exciting things to come I think with electric vehicles :D

This is precisely what Gogoro is doing with its network of 2000 battery exchange stations in Taiwan. The rider deposits two underseat batteries in empty slots in the rack, two fully charged batteries extend for use, all payment done by wireless. It's all appears very quick (6 sec) and elegant. Industrial design on the Gogoro scooters is a bit nicer (and the S1 offers a 7 kW motor), but battery capacity is a bit lower than the Niu NQi GT/S (3.5 vs 4.2 kWh). The only nation that Gogoro seems to be exporting this system to is India, through it's partnership with Hero MotoCorp (the world's highest volume moto/scooter manufacturer).

I understand this type of scooter has batteries, however they must find another place to put them, I love the fact I can get everything under my seat when I go out on mine. Helmet, jacket, backpack, lock, flip flops, etc. Storage, or lack of, is a deal breaker for me.

Yes, trouble is if they move the battery to a more hidden location you then wouldn't be able to easily remove them . I think a top box is available for this scooter which gives you a potential storage space

I have this scooter but i have the sport version which is a bit cheaper because it only has one battery. That version only has the battery underneath your feet, not the one under your seat. So you get the space but the tradeoff is that you get 'only' 60-70 km range (for me thats more than enough).

....Or maybe you could consider the Sunra Robo-S, which carries the 2 batteries under your feet. You can pull'em out, but have to be charged seperately. It's also cheaper, and available in the UK, not in my country, Belgium, so i have to stick with the Niu, (with topcase). Cheers ✌

Check out the Silence S01 - bit pricey but lots of space under the seat.

@@johnmarr9783 and a 40kg battery to wheel about the place - literally! Imagine the price of that to replace?!
