There are some old games with good graphics that are not playable in this phone like Implosion. I was also not able to use my gamepad in some games but it was working fine in my "ancient" Vivo V5 phone. The notch is also annoying because you cannot hide it in certain games (it happened when I played Implosion and Bright Memory) even if you set in on fullscreen or set the "hide notch" feature enabled. I hope Xiaomi will fix these in their software updates.

To be honest, both devices will have very similar results in photography, because camera setup is similar. While Redmi Note 8 Pro has 64MP main sensor - you could use that better to crop / zoom pictures. Meanwhile Redmi Note 9S has 48MP main sensor, which would do the same but with a bit lower cropping / zooming ability. Finally, Redmi Note 9S has better 5MP macro camera (compared to 2MP on Note 8 Pro) so if you think that you could use advantage of more crispy macro shots and you want bigger battery and more optimized processor - Redmi 9S is a pick for you.
