I have got a good collection of niwaki tools now and they are the absolute best quality gardening tools I have ever used. Yes the cost more but these tools are forever. I couldn't imagine being without them.

Thank you for a really informative video. I have two different types of niwaki secateurs and would love to understand the best way to sharpen them. If you have any tips or a future video that would be super!

This video was very informative and helpful so thank you, would you recommend the Tobisho Hiryu over the Rattan? Im going to purchase a pair and these two had me debating. I do prefer the rattans design though and the catch

Salve, complimenti per le recensioni, davvero utili. Per i miei vigneti sono in indeciso tra le tobisho a type e le niwaki gr pro. La mia attenzione sulla scelta va soprattutto alla leggerezza del taglio. Quale preferire? Io ho una ars e mi trovo molto bene va vorrei provare queste cesoie giapponesi. Grazie

Hi, you can indeed order from Niwaki.com to send to Poland, delivery will be via courier and charges displayed at checkout. Timescale wise, that's in the lap of the customs people when it reaches Poland, but we do get them sent out of our warehouse as quickly as possible to speed it up

@@АндрійГірняк-к7ф Hi, you can pay for the tools in advance, but the VAT is taken off of the total. This is paid to our couriers as it enters Poland, alongside any customs duties that need to be paid. We do have lots of stock available of secateurs, snips and scissors, you can order them through Niwaki.com.

Does cloud pruning stunt a trees growth? Considering buying Scots pine but don't want them to get too tall.
@jakehobson9042 жыл бұрын
Stunt isn’t really the right word, but yes, you can keep trees at a certain height by pruning them, and it works well with pines. Give it a go!

Hi I do a lot of orchard pruning and I have used Felco No.7 secateurs for the last 12 years but find they have started to pinch the palm of my hand either due to wear or flex in the handle or my hands have increased in size). Which pair of secateurs would you recommend for this type of work, thanks.
@niwakihq2 жыл бұрын
For regular pruning - winter and summer, cutting back yearly growth - they use the Aomori style secateurs in Japan. These would be our Niwaki Joppari or Tobisho Hiryu, which both have extra cushioning with a second spring. For heavier work, the GR Pro Secateurs, or S-Types would be fine, and actually most of our better quality secateurs are of a similar quality, with just slight differences between makers and styles. I hope that helps Jake.

What’s the difference between the tobisho sr1 and the niwaki pro please? Not sure which to buy.
@niwakihq3 жыл бұрын
Not very much ! Both use high grade carbon steel, both drop forged and hand finished by small family businesses. It really comes down to personal preference, which is hard to know without trying both - but some people prefer the vinyl grips of Tobisho, and the different ergonomics. Niwaki Pro a bit more robust, Tobisho a bit smoother. I use both, perhaps the Niwaki Pro a bit more, but right now am using GR Pro S-Types (just to confuse you even more!) basically, if you’re new to Japanese secateurs, you’ll love either and swear by them for ever more...

Great channel. I have been lurking here for years and see you may be interested in YT for more than just archiving stuff. Here is an opinion, it's what you probably know already, but I'm going to comment for the algorithm if not anything else. I'm sure it has crossed your business's mind. Would be great to see a tour of the shop and grounds if you have the time. With someone of your training, you have the clout here. And it is not disingenuous to show what you have these days if you do it in the right way. Another intreguing channel that has benefited from engadement with this platform over the years is Herons bonsai. If you watch YT, check its post history out. If you don't know the guy already that is. I've never met him but have heard from friends that he is a staunch business man. Either way, looking at what the guy has achieved with his channel over the years and the real world growth his business has seen from this, it is undeniably positive. It is worth an hour a week of anyone's time making smartphone videos especially if business growth is a goal (subconscious or conscious). It is your channel anyway. And a very good one at that. What ever you decide, thanks for sharing. And if I may be so bold - check that paper if you will, your supplier is doing themselves (and you) a disservice if they are not wrapping carbon steel work pieces in paper impregnated with vapour phase corrosion inhibitor to preserve the surface finish. You get the finish as the artist intended out of the box every time. It is hellishly clichéd, but, there is no second chance to make a first impression with most people (unfortunatley). And people assume alot of stuff these days. If they see a blemish or a duller finish, they will probably believe that this is how the artist made it :0/

@@niwakihq indeed there are always more pressing matters. Perception means alot. Not to be rude, but Talk to Mr. Chan and see what he discovered once he figured out he had something that people wanted to see on YT. Something not many people have. More than half of his revenue now comes indirectly or directly from this platform. Eye opening to say the least! 😯

Would these better then felco 2 for landscapers?
@niwakihq2 жыл бұрын
I prefer them! It's hard to say 'they'd be better' but Japanese Secateurs in general have a different feel and action, and better steel (if treated well), but it's very personal.
