President Nixon was a sophisticated and intelligent man. My respect, he was a great politician and a wonderful person. Leonid Ilyich, his blessed memory, had a South Russian temperament, was a kind and cheerful person, with an open soul, hospitable, loved friends, feasts, songs. He was from a simple family, went through the war and became the leader of our country.

Our nations really aren't so different. IMO Nixon was the last good president we had, it's been downhill since then. Reagan created the religious right of today and dismantled much of what made America prosperous to make his friends richer. Ford and Carter did nothing positive of note aside from necessary military reforms. Bush Senior was alright at first but the political environment turned toxic against him and he was unable to do anything about it. Clinton destroyed any and all chances for real peace and rapproachment with post-Soviet Russia, created the housing bubble, and took American warhawking to a new level. I don't think I need to say anything about Bush Jr., the whole world knows what a disaster he was. Obama seemed promising at first but his foreign policy was disastrous and while he did try(and was partially successful) at reversing the economic damage his predecessors caused, it was too little too late. Trump, likewise, seemed promising at first, but quickly turned into another Reagan-making his friends richer at everyone else's expense, tearing us apart, and trashing our image on the world stage. And lastly, we now have a senile old fool for a president who has done nothing good at all until yesterday/today with the passage of the infrastructure bill. Sorry for the long rant, I just get emotional when I think of how easily things could have been better for all of us. Peace to all Russians, not all Americans are brainwashed and we know you are good people. Maybe someday my fellow Americans won't be so bloodthirsty towards everyone else.

Unlike the Soviet Union, the people's republic of China was not as ambitious when it comes to expansionism. It was already a multi-ethnic and insanely large country. Mao new that further expansion would only cause dicentralisation.

Для детей создавал все виды для развития учебы,спорта и отдыха.Да и забота партии давала какую-то защиту в социальном плане. Вы еще до сих пор пользуетесь всеми мощностями,которые построили коммунисты,особенно при Брежнева. Вообще все было бесплатно,образование на уровне с другими странами совсем не кому не уступало. Многие специалисты получавшие весь пакет знаний и опыта уезжали за границу и сдавали многие свои проекты за доллары. Так как советский человек по принципу не мог быть миллионером.Ни артист,ни врач,ни учитель и т.д. Всем всего хватало,все довольствовались малым,но с завистью смотрели на запад,на их джинсы,жевачку,магнитофоны,автомобили. Хотелось жить так как живут они. Своя промышленность не могла давать подобных,аналогичных товаров т.к. Госплан не давал таких проектов. Отсюда народ и начал бунтовать. Результат сейчас на лицо. Кто-то сейчас холодный и холодный,а у кого-то дворцы,яхты заводы и крепостной люд. А раньше все было нашим и народным как в Белоруссии сейчас к примеру.

Трудовой народ получал охеренный соцпакет и привелегии в виде премий,путевок и подарков. Все стремились работать на заводах рабочими за 200~300 р.,но не сидеть в конторах за 60~70 рублей. Директора получали меньше чем рабочие. Они за счет премий только накручивали себе,и не жили в особняках и двоцах ,как сейчас те кто не платит людям,а оставляет все себе.

А от голода умерло 2млн людей не отрицаю но после служившися Сталин отстранил от должнести глав Казахстана и Украины за переизгиб в коллективизации и осудил а потом приговорил к расстрелу. Если Сталин специально заморил голодом эти страны то зачем туда из за служившивися голода массово возить зерно и помогать и оказать помощь?

Remember that while the Soviets and Americans were trying to improve matters and do nuclear arms treaties, Mao was going absolutely insane in China tearing down his country's whole culture (and building a nuke arsenal of his own, scaring the hell out of both the USSR and the US).
