Unbelievable, l met him severally in Zimmerman, a Pub called Success in 1996, he was doing live shows with Timona Mburu, later he shifted to Ruiru with Wamumbi(R.I.P. he was shot on stage by a policeman on love triangle). Believe me, I feel for them and will not hesitate to give my modest contribution. But let us appreciate the truth that many people are deceived by days of abundance; that they will last. Karanja David was a big name.His name was on par with that of the likes of the late Sammy Muraya, Timona, and Kigia. I was in nursery school when I started hearing his songs in KBC Central Station. He surely must have earned something from music during his hey days that, with prudent financial management, would have helped him to secure a humble but decent future. The fact that he has no inch of land in his name tells a lot. The last time I heard from him in an interview in Kameme in the mid 2000s, he said that he had two wives. We all know the perils that polygamy could have exposed him to. He does not seem to live with his children and there could be a labyrinth of issues behind that. You can also see that he is into alcohol. What Karanja and his wife need is a trustee to collect donations, acquire land and build a house for them. They cannot be trusted with hefty sums of money.
