Chris, slots take an average of 10% of your money bet per spin. If you bother to learn basic strategy for blackjack, the house advantage is only about .5% depending on the rules for the game. So yes, slots will take 20 x as much. The only reason why you can lose more in table games is because the table minimums bets are higher than the slot minimum bets.

Thanks. I couldn’t do that. What about the strategy Brunson FX recommends: bet maximum lines but min bet to start in order to conserve money. Whenever you win more than you bet you move up to a higher bet amt or after losing three times you move up anyway.

It's called the Martingale system, and the small wins you gain using the system end up being dwarfed by the fewer, yet larger, losses. Better are firm session stop limits (e.g. stop when ahead 50% of session bankroll, stop after 20 minutes of play -- win or lose, etc.) combined with religious slot club play, promotion advantage play (e.g. triple-point days), coupon play, and maximizing comp value through slot-club points, casino hosts, AND casino marketing (yes, all three systems!). I'm pretty sure you know all that already, Jonathan. But in case you didn't... you're welcome for the free advice

Wow. All you armchair quarterbacks need to read the book "More Frugal Gambling" by Jean Scott. She perfectly, and simply, explains precisely how a slot machine works. Specifically, each machine has a random-number generator (RNG) that activates, and determines the outcome of the spin, the moment the Spin/Max Bet/Repeat Bet button is pushed or the handle arm of the machine is pulled. There is no way to influence/change the RNG to increase positive outcomes or minimize negative outcomes. Read it for yourself if you don't believe me.
