The criticism should have been done after the movie has been released, he hasn't watched the whole movie so what is he criticizing, besides the movie have been made already so yes, his criticism will affect the views. Some people will say Sheldon said it's bad so they won't watch. People are supposed to watch a movie because they are curious/other reason then critique it after. That's the only time he has the right to criticize it after paying and watching it, he can then say the things he wants to say and give solutions and constructive criticism. So they can do better.
