NKJV Journal the Word Reference Edition (Review)

I appreciate the NASB and ESV, but I've switched to the NKJV as my go to for studying, teaching, and preaching. I'll reference the others of course, but the NKJV is a great translation with it's own merits. What Nelson is doing between their preaching Bibles, study Bibles, comfort print, and quality for dollar on their non-premium lines are putting them ahead of the competition in my opinion.

Thank you for making reference to "economy price" bibles. Most folks cannot afford the premium priced bibles.

Looks like a very nice bible for personal use. I like the red chapter numbers and the paragraph. Several years ago I bought many premium made bibles and while they are nice, they are expensive. I look more now for affordable bibles as well. I would be very happy with this bible.

Just saw this, yes the Bible is a great “ beater “ bible. I bought mine during Covid ( pre Biden years), 15$ plus shipping. That’s 42$ in today dollars.

The cream colored paper is easy on the You are so right.... Mist if us cannot afford the high priced premium Bibles. It’s really nice to see someone reviewing an affordable product. We get a little weary of seeing Bibles average people cannot afford. We sometimes get the feeling that if you really cared...you would not worry about forking over a couple of hundred bucks for a beautiful, well made Bible. Some reviewers give the impression Thst they are too good to use anything less than the best.

I'm from Jamaica and at some point would love to own a Bible like this. The thing is that I'm not sure which to get, there's the large print without the references and this one with the references but small print. I can't hold them in my hands to compare before I buy and I'm a bit scared to buy it and then it's too small. Can you give me a comparison of this font size campared with times new roman, at least that way I can print it and see how it looks. The NKJV is a great translation, my favourite, but without the translation notes it's not as good with it. The only gripe I have with this Bible is the red letter, the word holy bible on the front (prefer it to be clean as I already knew I was going to buy a Bible) and the font, the could have made it a bit bigger even if they had to make the Bible itself a bit taller. Otherwise, it's a great looking Bible. Thanks for the review.

Honestly, I am past premium editions also... Well except the paper. Premium paper honestly is nice. I wish there were more bible with good quality paper. covers and things can always be a rebound, but good paper, layout, and typography cannot be upgraded.

If anyone is interested in this Bible, I would point them towards Ollie's, the bargain outlet. I have seen only seen one reference edition and it was in the girly kinda flowery cover, so I skipped on it, but I have seen many of the regular NKJV Journaling the Word as well as the KJV version and now they have a HCSB one. I think they are often something like 15 bucks, so quite a steal.

I'm looking for a good nkjv bible but there doesn't seem many designs on Amazon. KJV has many designs and fashions but not the nkjv

I can highly recommend the Spirit-Filled Life Bible NKJV. I'm actually looking at getting a journaling Bible to annotate and highlight in, so that I don't do that (again) in my awesome Spirit-Filled Life Bible. Hope you find the right one for you. :-)
