Sometimes I wonder how high Jonathan's mic is actually turned up every performance. He's either basically muted or processed in a pre-recorded harmony backing track. No disrespect but I've always wondered what his voice sounded like. Even with new edition I can hear Biv and Ronnies voices in the harmonies.

+Lon Tanner Clearly you're not much of a fan if you don't know what Jon's voice sounds like. There's plenty of vids on KZbin with Jon singing and he sang lead on two of their songs back in the day. Plus he has solo parts on a couple of songs on their most recent album.

+lollypop2414 sure I am. And it's kinda hard to know what someone's voice sounds like when they're literally always a backup singer basically. Oh, I heard his voice with "We can have lots of fun" in step by step but that doesn't say much. I'm a singer who sings 4 octaves and vocal arranges so I know what I'm talking about.

Lon Tanner I'd love to hear Jon more too, but his anxiety keeps him from singing lead more often. Still there are vids where you can hear him singing and I don't think all his vocals are in pre-recorded tracks by any means. Sometimes it's hard to hear any of them over Joe when the group is singing because he has so much power when he sings.

he does turn his mic down once in a while when his nerves get the best of him..but he also does sing a few songs by himself such as happy birthday and white christmas and he has a solo in survive you and we own tonight and step by step he will sing his step once in a while..he has a good voice

there seems to be a pattern in all the videos, performances and live shows. Jonathan always seems to be the outcast or has no real parts to sing, whats up with that?

he sings various parts but generally back up.. although he does sing 1 or 2 songs fully, but has suffered sever anxiety since the 80/90s.
