My 1997 GLS Widebody NL Pajero off-road at a wet and muddy Brunswick in Western Australia.
The car is 3.5L V6 Auto. Factory rear air locker, front Auto Lokka, 35" cheap brand muddies, 2" body lift and 2" suspension lift using Patrol GQ springs.
The car has a full camping/touring setup which means I can go off-grid for long periods.
Soundtrack : Voice by KV (no copyright music)
Ali G reference : I wear the yellow raincoat when it's raining and just so happened to have a red beanie that day. My mate said I looked like Ali G. It just so happens I have the yellow sunnies to reduce glare when night driving. Ayyyyyyye!

I wear the yellow raincoat and red Beanie when we are out in the rain. My mate says I look like Ali G, so I popped that in the video for a laugh

Nice adventure. How did you mount that solar panel on the roof?

It’s bolted through my roof rack at the back. And bonded at the front with Marine grade Sicaflex

Hey Mate, loved the vid. Cant wait to get a locker in the front of my NL. Do you run a ballpoint flip, is it worth the articulation for the added tire wear ?

On my swb I did. Haven’t felt the need to on this on. It’s got enough flex in the back to make up for the front

Great edit mate. How does the 3.5 go? What's your ballpark fuel usage? I'm tempted to get one but also thinking of trying to find the diesel

I’ve never measured, but it’s thirsty. I used to have a 2.8 diesel and that was pretty good on fuel.

@@PERTHSCOOTER07 yeah I've wondered how they compare. Thanks. Hoping to get a 2.5 in the future.

@PERTHSCOOTER 07 what happened to your diesel? It seemed bulletproof on YT at least

@@Alpha-mo1kg hi there. I owned this car a few years ago. Only sold it after doing a trip around Aus and it was surplus to requirements. An opportunity arose to buy it back for a good price and I couldn’t afford to run the 2 of them. This one has sentimental value so the diesel had to go. I do miss it for mudding though.

@PERTHSCOOTER 07 Ah that is fair enough mate. I did see you talk about your fuel pump failing in one of your older video so thought that was why you got rid of it. How do you find the 3.5 + auto off road as many considers auto to be a disadvantage ?

Hey mate where did you get the bars (bull bar to rock slider joiner bar) from?

Hi there. The rock sliders and scrub bars are custom made by a local fabrication shop

Hey mate I've been reading your other comments for mods, Can I please get your feedback on my planned setup? 1. 2 inch rear lovells springs. 2. 1 inch upper ball joint spacers in front. 3. EFS 50mm long range shocks, front and rear, 4. 25mm upper ball joint spacers in front 5. I plan to glue 10mm polyurethane for front bump stops, How is having no stoppers? isn't there a bit of a clang metal on metal? I've currently got the stock ones cut along the line 6. I plan to get rear sway bar disconnects, eventually some for the front as well if I want easier suspension travel. My number 1 concern is rolling the vehicle on uneven terrain due to lack of articulation. Probably because I need a lot more droop in the front. Do you have any other recommendations? kind regards from Brisbane QLD. Love your channel

Hi there. I like your plans. With the balljoint spacers, put new balljoints in. Get 555 brand from Japan if possible because they have a good range of motion, are strong and greasable. Make sure all mating surfaces are spotless and use high tensile bolts with locktite. Don’t drill for bigger bolts. Not necessary you’ll just weaken the balljoint housing

Sway bar disconnects are good if you can get them setup and working well. I’ve done away with my rear altogether. It’s hardly noticeable. When you remove the front it is. My shorty had no sway bars it was mint off road but like a boat on the road.

For the droop stops. I tried shaving mine right down but still wasn’t enough so removed them altogether. With flipped and spaced balljoints you gain back enough travel to leave them in trimmed / shortened.
